  1. If you finish second, you fulfil the potential of the team you have for this season. That is about where they should be. I think they underachieve if they don't do that. Underachievement is failure. It isn't failure, not to win the SPl this year. That would have been a massive over achievement. Many a Rangers team have finished second in the league. Many of those teams had fabulous players. It is unacceptable, if we are outspending, or on a spending par, with scum, and do not win or go to the wire. You are right I care about second. Sheep have rubbed our noses in it with being better than us. Why wouldn't you want to turn the tables? Establish your foothold and get ready for the next step. It is simple logic.
  2. Don't see us doing 3 managers in the one season. We can still take something from this season, even with Murty. End of season, new manager in, players out players in. I hope for a better platform again and some progress. Players need to improve their performances . They have no excuse for their inconsistency. It's not Murty who sells goals and misses chances. It's the same players who hit the highs and then fall below par.
  3. I would give him a job...................running the pub in Eastenders. Fucking nut case!
  4. The fact is that we still have a great chance to finish second. They need to pick up and start the season now! Let's get these players back and get going!
  5. Those stats are interesting of course. The stat that I am interested in , manager discussion apart, is that we are still second in the league, Every team in this league this year, have been inconsistent. Not a great league but a competitive one with teams constantly taking points off each other. There it is. A wee run is all that every team is achieving. Willie Miller alluded to the same thing Dude was saying about Steve Clark just yesterday.
  6. It is a quandry. Boyd was poor with us a while ago. Was that lack of service? or struggling with his now lessened ability and the pressure of the Rangers jersey? He is scoring now. Is that because of better service/system or because the pressure is off? Has Cummings been the player he was since his streak with hivs? End of season, I don't know if we will sign Jason Cummings. Let's remember guys, he did go off the boil at hivs too. Would love him to get goals and go on a run mind.
  7. Graham Murty is to football, what The Carpenters were to music.
  8. It is hard to blame Murty for being in a position that he never saw before. You can blame board for having an inexperienced manager. The point is that going down to ten changed the scum formation. It did galvanise them and created the situation that we don't deal well with ie breaking down a team that are defending a draw or a lead at Ibrox. On the day, that worked for them. When you go down to ten, you have nothing to lose, but your opposition do. Dealing with expectation of winning is where we have failed before and that got to us. BF articles are normally shit. This one was not too bad. Before the game, brenda insinuated that we don't deal too well with teams that play with high tempo, cited the hivs games. I think he learned that we relish teams who want to come out and play football, as he got a bloody nose at times from us. If you play very tight against us and hit on the break, you have better success. Better defenders and defensive mids will sort that hopefully.
  9. Agreed It also ties in with him mentioning that there was a huge cheer went up in the dressing room when that draw was announced. Wrong attitude. He used and emphasised it. wrongly. Big cheers go up when small 3rd div English teams draw Manu. We are Rangers and we need to behave and perform like it. Murty wears his heart on his sleeve too much. He should learn not to say everything he is thinking.
  10. Linesmen at football matches have other jobs shocker! It seems that political diversity is absolutely rife in Scotland at the moment. Players have also been accused of showing blatant heterosexuality by having good looking women as partners and wives!
  11. We don't have one on the pitch. A player who can boss and implement the plan and the things we are supposed to do. We stopped playing yesterday and no one player could get a grip and change what we were doing and get that team to do it. It needs a character to do this, a guy that is great to have in the team, a total dependable. tims have their version of it and we all know who it is. We can all think of the names from our past that have done this job, and in our great teams we have been lucky to have two or three of these type, in the same side. Now? Not one. I am hopeful of Ross McRorie mind you.
  12. That's good. I prefer going in as underdogs as we do better that way. A bit much last week of, we will do this and that.
  13. We have came on somewhat yes. In reality though, they have left Ibrox with one of their most satisfying wins for many a year. They know they weren't playing what we had we had in previous seasons, but won the game at ours with 10 men and being behind twice. Tarriers are shite with a few quality players and a proper experienced cunt of a manager. If we keep improving, it won't be long though.
  14. Got to face facts. This is an absolute enigma we have with Morelos. Great presence and positioning with power and strength. Troublesome to defences and can ghost in with headers and decent finishing at times. The point is though that there have been too many misses. I don't remember so many sitters missed in a short space of time. Unless you are scoring in the same games regular, you just cannot continue missing like this. Like today, these chances will come at vital times and it can be the difference between win and lose. He now has to bounce back from this? How hard is that going to be? End of the day..........you cannot beat a natural finisher.
  15. Hard to think of a better Scottish midfielder in the recent modern era. The head up, the vision, running power, passing and scoring. Will to win was awesome. Out of the guys who were Scots and started their career with us, he was best of modern era. This is obvious.
  16. A bit of the Dave Smith about him.
  17. He possibly was. I would sometimes rather have that than, he said this and I said that. Murty often does that. "I said to the players at half time" sort of thing. I am hoping he can get past a lot of that explaining himself. Astute managers, don't have to do it. I don't think we need to always know every small detail, of these changing player negotiations. The outcome with DW is probably best all round.
  18. What Murty said was that DW wasn't enjoying it any longer. Never gave reason but maybe it was because of financial uncertainty with his contract. Never really knew what you were getting with him on the field. Yes, could be good, then sloppy. Players can't always get it their own way. We were weighing the options, as players do as well. We can't keep everyone and there has been talk of the squad being "heavy" from the management. Wilson was the easiest to let go, financially and football wise. It was business and an eye to the future I think.
  19. Watty said the same thing before now. Something like "shows you how good I am at choosing managers".
  20. He is workmanlike. Pretty solid in some departments. Not a flair player. Depends how much polish he can put on what we have seen.
  21. Murty works hard on being liked by everybody. If he wins anything, he will certainly have done it his way, right or wrong. I think it is just the way he is, a good guy, very honest. Might work for him, might not. Down to his development as a football manager at Rangers.
  22. I think 2nd place would get him a contract. 3rd would cast big doubts and then it may be down to who is available to replace him. Would we still want him, if he cannot get the better of sheep in a league where we beat them 3 in a row? I would see that as a failure and no improvement. If Rangers and sheep made a big improvement and got up near the scum, providing a real finish to the league, that could be different. Finishing 3rd in that scenario and pushing at the top would be improvement for us. All speculation of course.
  23. I think we are still relying on too many surprises. We just don't know what we are going to get. Unproven manager, new players bedding in, one step forward, one back. More endurance and patience for us I am afraid............sigh!
