In extending contracts of Davis, Arfield, McGregor and Goldson we have probably spent a few million on signing bonuses and agents fees. Lawrence whilst on a free has probably got a 7 figure signing bonus. Also whilst we have finally sold some players for decent money I am struggling to think where the next significant transfer fees are going to come from.

Unless we get a manager in after GIO who wants to control the signings and actually believes in developing players we will keep on signing players 26/27/28 with little or no resale value simply because the next manager wants results.

Take Colak/Morelos we are not going to play them at the same time but on form we should be telling Colak you have 60/70 mins to give it your all before Morelos gets a 20-30 min run out. We should start introducing him in the league at 60 or 70 minutes in most games if Barisic keeps his form. That way he gets game time and it keeps Borna on his toes.

But we have been talking about a player trading model for years so we should be looking for a 20m plus sale at least every other year. This coupled with regular UCL participation should mean 100m can be achieved not every year but maybe 1 in 3 at least.

Morelos has always taken time to get up to speed which was why he was getting cameo's. It could well be that they where annoyed at him because it was again taking time for him to get sharp compared to other players. His sending off obviously brought some conversation out which did not go on his favour so gio is thinking enough is enough the now. It may be getting used as they know he would not be any use given his fitness right now but dropping him like that might spur him on to actually get fit

PSV came third in their group last year in the Europa League and then got to the QFs of the conference. Yes we might struggle in the groups against a lot of teams in the UCL however we should not fear PSV. Plenty of times we have went away in Europe on a poor run of form and dug a result out.
