To put a different spin on it.... Win the WC with Scotland (or whatever your home country is), or the CL with Rangers?
-
Expect moves for a league shake-up again, two automatic promotion spots and a Play off place for next season should do it.

Getting booked for taking your top off celebrating
Iguana replied to GOAT's topic in General Football & Sport
It's a ridiculous celebration to be fair though. The Ravenelli variation was good. -
They'll just escape going down I think. Hearts are better than us which concerns me, in fact they look the best of the bottom six from what I've seen (which isn't much to be honest)

Gascoigne answering questions for four four two
Iguana replied to Marky.'s topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Good read. He'll hopefully find peace of mind soon. Anyone know the Rangers player he wouldn't name/blame for the celebration? -
I don't think the problem is motivation or a good teamtalk. Its the basics. None of the players today had instant control of the ball, there was nowhere near a high enough tempo either. That's where any top flight team would run us ragged. Nicky Law is the perfect example, his basic football skills have went backwards since the start of the season.

A reply from the BBC regarding Jim Spence
Iguana replied to 1st_Jan_1994's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Sports journalism in this country is absolutely fucked up. Say anything regardless of how stupid or misinformed it is and it's fine as long as you get a few more twitter followers and a bit more limelight. Jim Spence - the Dundee Glenn Beck. -
10 pages and nobody's mentioned Jimmy Nicholl?

Feyenoord about 10 years ago. As someone else said, they started charging trying to start some trouble just before kick off. Bunch of dicks, but noisy dicks. Im sure that was the tie where van Hooijdonk scored in the return leg

The thought behind this tactic is more players = more chance of winning the ball (first ball and second ball). Now if we rule out Ally telling the players to punt it anywhere, re-group and edge up the park then that only leaves the tactic being aimed at winning the ball and hitting on the counter attack from our own box - which relies on shit hot movement off the ball (something I've not seen from Rangers since PLG's early games).

It's just good to know that the fans are respected, not necessarily liked. Footballs all about rivalry, would never want to come away from a proper game more interested in what the other fans thought than how the team performed. You get dangerously close to tartan army territory when that starts.

Good read. Can't understand any fan having a go at bloggers like Chris Graham. He's raising valid points and highlighting blatant double standards. Even if he's doing it for his own ends (which I don't believe he is), what does it matter! We need people doing what he's doing.

Souness Says "Rangers Had to take their medicine"
Iguana replied to Non_Sucumbi's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Who did he ask to go with him? -
Souness doesn't think things like this through. Remember he gave an interview to the Sun on the anniversary of hillsborough in the early 90s, so something like this isn't going to enter his thought process. Loved him but doesn't exactly consider others at times.

Disagree. Having the right attitude shouldn't be good enough, it should be the bare minimum for a professional in my opinion. I take your point though, that's not always the case with footballers in Scotland.
-
Genuinely thought Advocaat bought him just to up the Scottish numbers in the squad.
-
Yes. Teams that dominated in the past didn't have the same competition that there is now. Current Holland, Germany, Argentina and Brazil teams are outstanding, so for Spain to be miles ahead of them puts it into perspective. That's not even taking into account teams like Uruguay and Belgium.

Amo's free kicks were better.

How does J Traynor earn his money with Rangers?
Iguana replied to nvager's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Now that CG has gone I think he'll be ushered out the door pretty soon. When that happens he'll go back to sticking the boot into us at whatever newspaper gig he gets. It's all very well having a poacher turned gamekeeper, but isn't he more dangerous when he goes back to poaching? -
Looks good, would have no problem even if the contributors wanted to keep the profits rather than donate to charity but I salute their generosity. Never understood the idea that it's bad to make money from other Rangers fans.

Hypothetically speaking, if the embargo was lifted immediately?
Iguana replied to Gerwelly's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I honestly don't know any of their players these days, I know it's a cliche to say it but my interest in any SPL football news ended last summer. If Skacel is still there then I'd have him though. -
Nobody should be surprised the mainstream media aren't asking difficult questions, they sat back fawning over D Murray years ago even when fans needed/wanted difficult questions to be asked regarding the running of our club. They don't want to rock the boat as they're in fear of being banned from pishy press conferences or exclusive interviews being given to their competitors. Tow the party line or your out the clique!

Do they have any massive single liabilities, or any creditors who are likely to play hardball? It's looking almost certain they'll go into admin but I think they'll find it a hell of a lot easier coming out of it than we did. They don't have a mythical 100m bill from hmrc that would make a CVA deal impossible.

Needed more first team games at that early point in his career when he broke through. Would liked to have seen him loaned straight back to us when Liverpool signed him, like what crystal palace/man utd did with Wilfred Zaha.
