Alfredo is awesome. Easily the best player in the League by some distance. Playing up front on his own and bullying 2, sometimes 3 players much bigger than him. The amount of goals he's scored (No pens either) for a lone striker is incredible. There is no one else like him in the league and very few in UK can do what he does. The boy is a star and worth plenty!

Hope so, class finisher but he will need the service. Totally different style from Buffalo who can rag doll sheep players for fun but not as composed a finisher (usually) as JD.

To be fair to him but we played some good football, won the Championship and got to a major cup final. Something Ally couldn't do. His budget was nothing like Gerrards or Pedros and first season back was always going to be a tall order. The guy was a perfect gent when he was here, I remember him going to a fans funeral for example. Imo its a bit crass to keep sticking the boot in. He was a dignified guy doing a tough job with wholly unrealistic expectations from board/fans. It didn't work out, let's leave it at that.

It's the beggars way. Stats show they consistently get more pens than us and we get more reds & bookings than them.

I think the ref was stopping at 3. The 4th he gave a free-kick as he thought it was outside the box. The lino signalled it was in the box, therefore had to be a pen as he had called a foul.

No harm in trying. I like him but his child like behaviour at times needs addressed.

Went away in a huff when Tav took the 3rd pen. The wee shit never celebrated the goal. I saw Arfield talking to him after that. The next pen he was a bit better and almost got as far as congratulating JD. Huffy wee man just thinking of his own goal tally......probably No shock as most strikers have a selfish streak. Needs to think about the Team first, then himself next.

Yep, the diamond is pish and leaves us light on the wings. As you say flat middle 4 is ok in some games or usual 4-2-3-1 formation in others.

If we can beat their first team then we should be able to beat a diddy team with a few Tim rejects in tow. Admittedly the whole loan system has spiralled out of control now. If you look at all the moves during the Jan. window, the vast majority were loans. Maybe it's time the authorities tightened up the rules around it.

Precedence was set by Motherwell fans at play off game and taken up a few levels by the hibs fans in the SC final. Difference with our 'pitch invasion'. No goading opp fans and it was really only kids in small numbers. Mixed feelings on it tbh. It looked fun and Alfredo was loving it. But if not checked it could happen more and more often with greater numbers. It's kinda ok if it's a sporadic thing, but not if it becomes a regular thing imo.

The thing that bugs me us that they had a grass pitch last season. They ripped it up and layed their carpet pitch for the top league - Not effing acceptable

Strategy is sound. We have to put a team out on the park to compete in the here and now (addition of experience and quality) Davis & Defoe. Loan players to fill the squad in short term whilst we sign others for next season (Jones & Kamara) Only 2 windows and we have a decent squad with much more depth and a number of players worth a bit of money. Got to say we are in a much better footing than we were with Pedro. Budget isn't there to make the type of changes the gaffer would like to make so it has to be managed over time.

Yeah it's not the best but we are still in touch with leaders. I think that the extra Euro games have taken their toll on the squad. The sheep and killie haven't had to worry which is why they are right up there atm. I expect that we will win more games this 2nd part of the season and the others bar celtic will fall back. Time will tell I guess but I wouldnt be rushing to do anything right now.

And beating them too which was a must. The other difference is we haven't been hammered in any game results-wise. We took a few heavy beatings under Warbs & Pedro so we have been stronger there.

Some good points made. Also think Killie are terrible to watch (maybe the pitch) but it tends to suit their style

Ffs, after the old firm game he was a messiah. Now he's a dud 90 mins later. The truth is somewhere in the middle. He is young Manager learning his trade. He will undoubtedly make mistakes (and has done). But he has a winner's mentality and a status that can attract players that otherwise wouldn't come. We have no money for a Laudrup or a Gascoigne, but we make the same demands and expect the same results from much lesser players. Its a cup final to all the other teams playing us but nowadays there is barely a difference in quality between us and the rest. Everyone's disappointed after last night, but we can't keep changing Managers every time we lose a game.

Killie away is tough fixture. Plenty of points will be spilt there by the other top teams.

Not a tactical expert but think the system last night needs quicker, more mobile centre halfs. With narrower set up it meant the CD were being dragged out to the wing to cover full backs. (No candieas/ kent to cover) Obviously cost Macaulay a booking initially then the 2nd goal he couldn't make a challenge. Would only use 442 (diamond) against diddy teams at home as we are going to get done on the flanks when we lose possession upfield. Big lumbering defenders one vs one with winger isn't going to end well.
