I've only played New Vegas vanilla, but heard a lot about Tale of Two Wastelands (if you want to merge NV and Fallout 3) and Viva New Vegas. If not Viva New Vegas then you'll definitely want the community patch at a minimum as New Vegas is probably the most buggy of the series - but it's also the best Fallout for me by quite some margin.

You do not have to use too much imagination to see in your mind the screeching outrage from the usual suspects, if the next time The King is in Scotland, Clement & the first team squad visited to pay their respects. Pandering to the bigots and sectarian elements in the support, meddling in politics, traitors to Scotland showing respect to an English King, and so on.
