Went to the 150th Belgrade derby a couple of years ago. The Partizan fans set fire to their own stand at one point, which seemed a bit fucking stupid, as was the fact I decided to get a ticket for the away end, but the atmosphere was tremendous. Would definitely like to see a derby at Red Star's ground.

I don’t hate Kenny Miller but the idea that he was some sort of great servant of Rangers is bullshit. He always put himself and money first. Midway through his best season for us and the best in his career he walked out on us at the first opportunity for Bursaspor for a bit of extra cash, not to mention that he played for celtic and “thumped” the badge after scoring against us. In his final spell he was desperate to get back to us so he could get a final payday not because he was desperate to help us.
I don’t blame him at all for giving abuse to Murty it was well needed. He has scored some vital goals for us and played key part in some of our title winning teams but let’s not pretend he is some sort of wonderful Rangers man who deserves a great reception because he’s not.

South America countries have an entirely different culture to ours.
There are many ingredients that make up a derby.. geography, politics, religion, cultural beliefs, class, success (competing for trophies.) when you look at the Old Firm you see two teams in the same city. Add to that they are the two most supported teams in the country with the biggest followings. They compete exclusively year on year for the domestic trophies. Throw in religion and the sectarian divide, the politics, class and cultural differences any you have the perfect storm in my opinion. there are many great derbies, some have 1 even 2 or 3 of the above, I'd say with confidence you won't find another with all of those ingredients.

Maybe followers of the game in general...The Old Firm game obviously is important to me but as atmosphere goes it just does not compare to Derbies in South America...to say it is the biggest derby in the world still is insular pish

    Lucky bastard!
I went to United v Liverpool a good few years ago it was pretty tame to be honest, football was phenomenal though.. Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, Gerrard, Xabi Alonso to name a few.
Ajax v Feyenoord was a lot more like it as far as atmosphere goes, pretty decent to be honest, and all the Ajax fans where class with me thoroughly enjoyed it.
I was also in Amsterdam when Germany came to play Holland one time, couldn't get a ticket but you could feel the hatred all over the city, walked from a Dutch area through a police barrier and ended up where the German fans where drinking they where absolutely bonkers.

Been to Derbies in various parts of South America nothing comes close to a Buenos Aires derby although I would say River v Boca is where the real hatred is.Lazio v Roma a couple of years back was not a sell out, stadium was 3/4:full and that is being generous ,it was a midweek game though.Probably the best atmosphere I attended though was Semi final of Copa Libertadores River v Vasco de Gama  under the lights and  ticker tape welcome when teams came out, unbelievable ...couple of stubs from games I kept from 20 odd years ago The Maracana was a crumbling deathtrap and soulless on the few occasions I was there.

They have always been a club with no class, craving friendship ( speshul relationship) with every club in Europe they've ever played, " Oh please like us, please". Their major shareholder is well known for tax avoidance on a massive scale, and they have covered up child abuse for years. Their captain is a horrible ned and the thumb has been found guilty of sectarianism, or whatever it was termed.  They are a fucking disgrace with their songs about killing British soldiers and if they were playing English teams every week this would not be tolerated. They get away with it up here which shows just how badly this shitehole is being governed.
