I can't see how anyone can seriously argue that a knackered player is better on the pitch than someone raring to go unless it's obviously ronaldo or some other talisman. Not sure Ojo is that player yet. 

We had no out ball, everything was coming straight back at us. From about the hour mark Ojo offered nothing. He actually struggled to track back as was out on his feet, he'd put a good shift in and was done in. 
Jones should have been brought on for him. Fresh legs, no change to system. Anything he did would have been more than Ojo was doing, so it was a no brainer.

Felt we really needed fresh legs on to turn the tide a bit when they got on top. Jones and Kamara are the 2 I’d have gone for around 60 minutes with Arfield & Ojo off and  Aribo pushing up into Arfields role but at least we got through a tough end to the game without conceding 

I love Gerrard but the lack or lateness of subs is going to hurt us sooner or later. We looked spent and were hanging on for a 0-0 at best.
In the end 0-0 is a good result but imo we looked a poorer team in the 2nd half and barely threatened.

Both Arfield and Ojo not great this evening.

I wanted Jones on myself last 20. Ojo was knackered and Arfield doesnt have the legs to run away from anyone. There was more space to operate in late in the game. To be fair we had fell out the game by them and didnt look like scoring.
An away goal would pretty much have got us one foot in the group stages. I understand he didnt want to lose a goal but changing a wide player wouldnt have made us defensively weaker imo.

Im just a nervous wreck on nights like next Thursday, much preferred the last 3 chilled out qualifiers in nice weather with no real worries but I suppose it can’t be that easy every time

Barisic just looks like a complete coward the now which is mad considering he looked an absolute warrior playing against us for Osijek
Doesnt even really make an effort to take his man on and get down the line for a cross anymore like he was doing when he first signed

Your first statement there sums Flanagan up to perfection, he makes big tackles at crucial moments but offers you little on the ball when he’s on the left and gets caught wrong side of his man a little too often 
 

He made some big tackles tonight but he also got caught out a few times and his distribution was poor as usual.
It’s far better than his last outing but let’s not delude ourselves that we can go forward with him as our LB, if Gerrard has no intention of playing Barisic he needs to go for another Left back.

3.5 million is a decent wedge of cash for us.
I am not bemoaning the club spending money and buying quality. But if he looks like he’s battling it out with Edmundson to be cover. Then I might say that 3.5 quid could be better spent on a quality left back who is going to start every game.
