McGregor 7 - Didn't have much to do but good save from Davidson in the first half.

Whittaker 7 - Showed some good skill high up the pitch.

Bougherra 7 - Had a pretty easy afternoon and dealt with anything he had to.

Goian 7 - Solid debut, won headers and showed strength.

Wallace 7 - Thought he played well again, whipped in some good crosses and done well defensively.

Davis 8 - Showed great skill and composure on the ball. Brilliant display.

Edu 6 - Not his worst performance but still giving the ball away too much.

McCulloch 6 - Same as Edu, put in a lot of hard work, not much of it was effective though.

Papac 6 - Put in some good crosses from an unfamiliar position. Played well enough.

Naismith 8 - Superb link up play with Jelavic, worked his socks off as always and scored a bullet header.

Jelavic 8 - Fantastic finish to give us a 2 goal advantage.

Subs:

Ortiz 3 - Looked lively

Wylde 3 - Didn't have much time to impress.

McGregor 6.5 - Didn't need to do much but did what he had to do well

Wallace 7 - Really impressed with him so far, played well today and Malmo, some great tackles and got forward too

Goian 6.5 - Again not needing to do much but got rid of any danger that came

Bougherra 6.5 - Same as Goian, also had a nice run up the wing that came to nothing

Whittaker 6 - Some great dribbles but a few wayward passes also

Papac 6 - Was put in midfield for whatever reason, had a good cross for an assist but was fairly quite otherwise

Edu 5 - Was OK in possession at times but still gave it away too much

McCulloch 4.5 - Hardly did anything creative and passing was poor

Davis 7 - Kept possession and pulled McCulloch and Edu along in the middle, brilliant bit of skill towards the end

Naismith 8 - Got the first goal and a nice assist, good performance from him

Jelavic 7.5 - First goal of the new campaign and took it very well, a header in the first half but not too many chances for him though

Good performance but can still be improved, CM is main priority IMO (tu)

McGregor - 6 - Didn't really have don anything in the match.

Whittaker - 6 - Showed flashes of brilliance and mediocrity.

Bougherra - 7 - Solid at the back, pushed up a couple of times.

Goian - 7 - Solid, looks suited to the SPL, provided a threat from set pieces.

Wallace - 8 - Excellent throughout, solid defensively and whipped some fabulous crosses when overlapping and from set pieces.

Davis - 8 - Showed class, especially when given a central role (Hint, Hint, Ally)

Edu - 5 - Provided comedy value.

McCulloch - 4 - Edu, without the laughs.

Papac - 6 - Came into the game as he adapted to an unfamiliar position.

Naismith - 7 - Great goal, linked up well with Jelavic at times.

Jelavic - 7 - Spends a little to much time outside the box for my liking, but excellent finish and link-up play throughout.

Ortiz - 5 - Looked lively when he came on, had a couple of good chances to score.

Wylde - 3 - No time to make an impact.

Bit strange giving Whittaker the same marks as the rest of the back four, when they were much better than he was.

How was goian lads? Missed the match coz i was playin

Also, how was murray davidson

Goian was solid mate.

I didn't think Murray Davidson done anything of note, missed a decent chance in the first half. I thought Jody Morris was St Johnstone's best player.

Cheers bud.

Good to hear the big man look the part.

Morris was a crackin footballer, alot of the time davidson gives him space amd time to play football so he sticks out, im sure he'd tell you that yourself, and i think davidson could let davis do the same. I think thats why we are/were after him.

McGregor - 7 Little to do but as usual did what was needed.

Whittaker - 5 Lapses of concentration as usual; the one in the box should have costed us big time, wayward in distribution as usual.

Bougherra - 7 Comfortable and kept himself in position to help the new boy settle.

Goian - 6 Looked rusty early on but settled in well.

Wallace - 7 Good game and worked well in tandem with Papac.

Edu - 5 Frustrating player; but does the midfield job of getting close to the opposition although he should not lose possession so easily.

Davis - 7 Worked his socks off and had a huge role in most of our good play.

McCulloch - 4 Basically an empty jersey who can make a crossfield pass as long as it is to his right.

Papac - 7 Looked out of place at left midfield but it did work along with Wallace, couple of good crosses and the short spell in central midfield was comfortable.

Jelavic - 7 A class act with his movement ,great goal and unlucky wit a couple more chances.

Naismith - 8 Wholehearted as usual and linked well with Jelavic, great headed goal was a reward for his movement.

Ortiz - 5 Eager and made very good runs, needs to try and improve his pace somehow.

Wylde - 3 Not much seen apart from a very good run late on; switching with Ortiz would have been a better position for both.

McGregor - 7 = Didn't have much to do, few good saves.

Whittaker - 6 = Played better than the Malmo game but must still improve.

Bougherra - 7 = Solid, showed good strength a couple of times.

Goian - 7 = Looks the part, won battles and looked composed...also a threat at set-pieces.

Wallace - 7.5 = Very good performance from him, great crosses in and set-up Naisy for first goal.

Davis - 8.5 = My personal MOTM today, wore the Captains armband with pride and attacked at every chance...brilliant show.

McCulloch - 5 = Was hoping him and Mo would improve but saw nothing from the both of them.

Edu - 5 = Gave possession away far too easily, against better opposition and we'd have lost thanks to the CM pairing.

Papac - 7 = Another fine game, didn't look out of place at LM with some excellent crosses and was solid for a short period at CM.

Jelavic - 7 = Great goal and deserved it, hopefully there's much more to come.

Naismith - 8 = Made up for his mid-week misses with a wonderful headed goal and was outstanding today.

Ortiz - 5

Wylde - 3
