Ray Wilkins the commentator

He is a hopeless commentator, provides no insight whatsoever and sees it more as a ninety minute exercise in demonstrating how many footballers, coaches and managers he knows personally. The constant referal to people by their first or nicknames only annoys me no end

A true testament to an overly friendly and disrespected coach. The footballers he refers to with nicknames would probably not know he he was or give a second care about him, which is sad. I like the guy a lot, but come on, be proffessional in commentary.

Spot on. Like the guy and he was a brilliant player, not just for us. But he should realise he's there to do a job, otherwise Sky could just get any punter to do a better job.

In all honesty I think he would make a brilliant manager someday. He must have a successful theory of the game, but sadly lacking in leadership skills. Thats my opinion anyway, who knows he might disprove my thoughts by becoming a worthy leader at a lowly premiership club. Blackburn for example. Who wouldn't have him as a coach at Rangers for instance ?

I thought we should have jumped at the chance when he left Chelsea, don't fancy the idea of him as a manager tbh though, as you say, not enough discipline, but as part of a coaching team then I would love to have him up here

Didn't he get QPR relegated back in the '90s?
