Is God helping?

Just wondering as it seems I am the only christian on here but thought would ask how peoples religious faith is getting then through these tough and turbulent times. For me God is there as a guiding light and too many forget that and I would like to know how many of you like me pray every night to god and put their faith in him that he will help us through this. Anyone else prepared to state that in God they trust?

Never forget the Covenanters they beat the imposable, so WILL WE

I do pray! But not to God anymore. Joe Pesci has answered more of my prayers in the last few years. That's a man who really knows how to gets things done. My answered prayers have doubled in recent years.

lol, George Carlin eat your heart out.....

Anyways, back to the original question.... "Is God Helping Rangers"..... erm.... even if such a ficticious character were true in what way is he helping us? Is he a Blue Knight?.....

You see, only real people can help. You know what they say, one pair of working hands does more than a thousand clasped hands...

Plus, its not the way that God guy is supposed to operate. If you pray for him to help Rangers then he has to reject the prayers of fans of other SPL teams. Doesnt work like that, apparently.

People who say Grace at the dinner table also have the wrong end of the stick because to thank God for your food means God made someone else starve.

i think i'd be more upset at the fact i'd worked my ass off all week to pay for the food that the wife then spends time making, and we thank some magical sky fairy for it. god just makes people lazy - work hard and you might get something. sit and pray, and you'll get nowt. fact.

and just as a side issue - if people were not brainwashed with this as kids (when they are at their most vulnerable, and will believe anything you tell them), there would be none of this god nonsense. i think its the sickest thing you can do to a child.

God ( if he or she exists )doesn't make people lazy. What an absurd statement.

More importantly ,more than half of the planet lives on less than 2 dollars a day and 34 000 children die of starvation and preventable diseases each and every day in a world of plenty but you think telling children there is a God is " the sickest thing you can do to a child"?

Think before you post in future mate. (tu)

I agree, Crespie.

I was told if i didnt believe in God i'd burn in hell for all eternity... And i believed it! Just like i believed in Santa Claus at the time.... But to put fear into someone like that and force them to believe in something irrational is wrong. Wait till they are capable of making their own decisions and then try and brainwash them. (maybe that method was tried and resulted in too many Atheists? lol)

I was an Atheist at about 8. I simply knew Catholicism was nonsense. And if i knew that, i knew the same would apply for any other religion.

If we are depending on supernatural assistance then we are well and truly up shit creek. The world is full of horrendous situations where whole populations spend half their lifes praying for help, and things still get worse. The only religious maxim I believe is that god helps those who help themselves.

What? Even sicker than what a considerable number of men of the cloth of a certain persuasion do to children?

That's the sickest thing you can do to a child

They can always form their own opinions when they get older, there's no undoing the deeds which physically and mentally scar them for life
