Right_To_Censor 1,951
heres the thing that bugs me, teams can still sign players yet we get a transfer embargo hows that possible if the window isn't shut yet so that means we still have a few extra days to get players in. The Godfather 72,647
Looks like Malouda has refused to move and has been sent to train with youngsters for the remainder of his contract. My link
caseyjones 3,009
The value in the Spanish market is incredible at the moment. For instance, the top scorer at the 15th best club in Spain (Rayo Vallecano's Michu) is sold for something like £2m, whereas the top scorer at the bottom club in the EPL (Wolves' Steven Fletcher) is sold for £15m, both going to fairly average EPL teams. Crazy stuff.Michu was some bargain, but he was bought by a manager who knew a market outside of England. Pricks like O'Neill and Allardyce buy British and pay over the odds or wait for the agents of foreign players to come calling......and pay over the odds! The Godfather 72,647
In this day and age though, you'd expect clubs like Sunderland and West Ham to have scouts all over the world for that sort of thing. If you have access to the revenue streams that they do, it's ridiculous not to.Some clubs don't though.Look at the difference between Rangers and them, we are years behind in that aspect and I don't know why. King_gazza 1,065
It ain't half some price considering the prices getting flung about for players.Did he sign from Ajax? He's a very solid FB that can play either side of the defence.
The Godfather 72,647
Didn't know Lassana Diarra had gone to Anzhi.Yeah that's why they brought Essien in.

The Godfather 72,647
Not a horrible piece of business for either party. Essien was stagnating at Chelsea, but can be a beast on his day.Yeah they needed get him off the wage bill apparently so good for both.Have my doubts Essien will ever be back to his best though, shame as he'd be at his peak about now without those injuries. The Godfather 72,647
A big part of his game was his energy. Now, injuries don't necessarily mean it's gone, but you get the feeling he might be playing with a bit more fear now.Yeah, can't blame him for not going into a challenge with everything after what happened so soon after that first injury. If anyone can get the best out of him though its Jose.
