Seattle Sounders have confirmed the signing of Clint Dempsey from Tottenham.

Tottenham revealed on Saturday that the United States captain was returning to Major League Soccer after just one season at White Hart Lane.

And the Sounders have confirmed the deal, with majority owner Joe Roth telling his club's official website: "This is a historic day for Sounders FC and our fans. Clint is a world-class soccer player who can take this club to a higher level."

The 30-year-old joined Spurs just 12 months ago when they paid Fulham over £6million for his signature.

Not sure what Spurs are up to.

Caulker now Dempsey.

They do have cover for attacking options, Caulker was really strange though. They had Livermore and some young boy playing against Monaco.

Their side might be unrecognisable at the start of the Season. If Bale goes especially.

Can see a lot movement happening at WHL. Wouldn't be surprised if Parker, Lennon Defoe and Ade all left too.

I think Parker will go to WH on loan with option to buy at the end of the Season. Adebayor will go somewhere as will Huddlestone.

Spurs will need another Striker & a CB (Hummels or Mangala of Porto maybe?).

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini insists he would reject any move to leave the club this summer.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh are close to moves away from the Emirates.

Roma are in advanced talks to sign Ivory Coast international Gervinho, while Premier League new boys Crystal Palace are thought to be chasing Chamakh.

Wenger is willing to let the pair move on as he looks to free up some funds for his own transfer plans, however the Frenchman insists there has been no movement on the future of another unsettled forward Nicklas Bendtner.

Eintracht Frankfurt have been linked with a move for Bendtner, but a move has fallen through for the Danish international.

Wenger admits he will know more on the possible transfers in the next 48 hours and he confirmed the deals for Gervinho and Chamakh will be permanent moves.

"Gervinho we are at the moment close to an agreement with a club where he should go," Wenger told the club's official website.

"Bendtner we are nowhere. At the moment he is completely here. Chamakh might go somewhere, it will be decided in the next 48 hours. [They are] permanent moves."

Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear has revealed he expects to finalise a move for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy in the next 48 hours and that they are in talks with Aston Villa about Darren Bent.

Kinnear is working hard to bring in new signings before the start of the new season and they have lined up deals for strike duo Remy and Bent.

Newcastle are thought to have approached QPR about a loan deal for French international Remy and Kinnear is confident of sealing a move for the player early next week.

Asked if the club were close to signing Remy, Kinnear told Sky Sports News: "Yeah I think very much, so I would like to think we are very, very close to agreeing that.

"I would think maybe Monday or Tuesday we will be a position to say yea or nay, but I am very happy about how that deal is going at the moment."

Cisse, Bent, Gomis & Remy would be a pretty impressive strikeforce.

Newcastle badly need another creative midfielder though. Cabaye is superb but he's injured too much and they are a fraction of the team when he's not in it.

It'll be interesting to see Bent, always been fantastic goalscorer but after about two years of injuries and being a bit part player I wonder if he can reach those standards again.
