Nibali destroys the field on the final climb to take stage 20. Bad day for Evans, who now drops to third overall behind Uran. Betancur takes the white jersey for the best young rider. Mark Cavendish narrowly loses the points jersey to Nibali, but should regain it on the final stage to Brescia.

Nibali now 28/1 for TdF! ;)

Just can't see Nibali having the legs to take the TdF after his exploits here.

May stick £10 e/w on him however

888 Sport are offering 1/4 odds on top 3. He's 50/1 with them now. Any other firm that are doing e.w. are only 25/1.

They are also giving up to £88 in free bets for new customers.

He hasn't broken a sweat throughout a Giro that has had some of the hardest men in sport whining like children about the hardships they have faced. He has cruised this with the ease of Indurain, who won the double twice.

Cheers mate. On it now!

Mark Cavendish wins his fifth stage and the red points jersey!

The guy is the most human machine in world sport

The tactics getting him there are good but the instinct and awareness he shows in the bunch can't be taught!

The guy is a monster and deserved the stage wins but the red jersey was certainly Nibali's if the Galibier, Gavia and Stelvio hadn't been cut.

Absolutely.

Did you see yesterday's stage? OPQS were unsure of when the final intermediate sprint took place and Cavendish was bombing in front every time they went under anything which even resembled a banner! :D

Ha, I didn't, but I was following it on my phone at work.

Bradley Wiggins' defence of his Tour de France title is in doubt due to the chest infection which blighted his Giro d'Italia bid, plus a knee injury.

Come on, Vincenzo, get yourself declared! :D

Getting his excuses in early I see. Hardly befitting a knight of the realm :(

He needed to be even better than he was last year to have a chance of winning it. That patently isn't going to happen, so he'll see it as there being little point in fucking himself up for a fellow Sky rider who can't stand him. :D

Vuelta?

If he turns up with his Giro form, seeing him wheeze his way up the Angliru will not be a pretty sight.

Giro d'Italia stage winner, Mauro Santambrogio, tested poaitive for EPO during the race, the second failed EPO test for the Vini Fantini team.

Assuming that everybody in the peloton knew Santambrogio was doping, just as everyone at home did, that makes Nibali gifting him the stage win rather interesting.

The failed test was from stage 1, and he won stage 14. Bizarre!

He is also one of those named in the Mantua investigation which is due to be heard in the next couple of months.
