EVERTON are understood to be considering a bid for Rangers teen sensation Barrie McKay.

The 17-year-old, left, is one of the few positives to emerge from the club’s season so far.

After scoring in Rangers’ 5-1 home win over East Stirling, Ally McCoist labelled his display as “magic”, and it is believed Everton, who already signed ex-Ibrox duo Nikica Jelavic and Steven Naismith have now been alerted to the teenager’s talent.

The player’s current deal runs out in May and he could sign a pre-contract with the Premier League club within weeks.

Moyes is only doing what every other tim does, obsessing over all things Rangers, however, is Barrie even that good yet? He's only played a handful of games, and it just goes to show how poor our coaching methods normally are that we get all excited over a player who can actually run with the ball and pick out a pass. I seem to remember Arsenal, Spurs and Man Utd being interested in Fleck in the beginning, only for us to tie him down to a long term contract and most of us to celebrate like we've held on to Messi or something. Look how that one turned out. Yes, Barrie McKay has shown promise, but that's all it is, nothing more. The last thing we need is for these youngsters to believe their hype, because their talent certainly wasn't evident at Berwick.

The talent wasn't 'there' at Berwick as he was forced to spend the whole game watching Neil Alexander's punts fly 30 feet over his head.
