simplythebest 11,453
Still plenty of time and he's hardly the type to be away speaking to other clubs in a hurray but Alexander is the highest profile player left to be out of contract in the summer. I've no doubt there are discussions going on and hopefully there will be pen put to paper soon, in our position and the transer embargo we couldn't hope for a better goalkeeper. As a keeper Neil at 34 still has a fair bit of time on his side, he can certainly lead us up the divisions and perhaps into the first couple of years or so in the top flight.Get it done Ally and Charles. Blumhoilann 6,715
Keepers not old at 34,sign him for another 5....at least
AlBear. 8,499
Been patient and loyal for Rangers. Very proud for him to finally get a proper chance. Alexander the Great is our #1 back to the top.
TMB 14,167
Neil's probably the best Keeper playing in this country. Pay no attention to the Mhanks pish about Forster being worth £10m and ready to replace Hart in the England squad. Neil took us to a Euro Cup Final and has seen us through many an Old Firm game. Get him signed
roboscot 1,203
He has stated quite clearly in an RTV interview that he intends to be part of the history of our journey back to the top, he's not going anywhere!
JCDBigBear 10,982
There is no rush. I like the guy and he's a reliable keeper. Not flash and pretty consistent. He also showed his loyalty so is worth another contract without doubt. He is apparently well paid at present and I would be reasonably happy to continue with that level of wage. I suspect that he will be OK about the financial aspect, it will probably be determined on the length of contract offered by us and what he expects himself. At 34, I'd go for 2 or 3 years. BlueSuedeSambas 56,399
He's as reliable a number 1 as we could possibly hope for at this moment in time so hopefully we can sort something out. However he was a relatively high earner so will he be willing to take a wage cut?

The Godfather 75,672
At 34 his best pay day's are behind him and I really can't see too many teams from the championship looking to bring him in as a No.1.He will finish his football at this club I'd wager. delr1981 4
Alexander should be given a 5 year contract. We need stability and dedication, the latter Alexander has been doing for years for our club.
Chef 436
He's decent but I have my reservations at times, prone to mistakes like any other and these five year contract situations ain't needed unless it's the promising youths.
supermac 115
3 year deal sounds good to me. Hope he signs, he's a top lad.
nelsonRFC82 305
Certainly worthy of a new contract, the length of which would have to be linked to how much he is willing to take a drop...personally would be looking at 2 years, 3 absolutely max. j1mgg 3,766
I would like us to keep him and get a good young keeper in as his back up. Not sure what our own youth keepers are like as maybe they will do and give hem some games.
JograBear 1,082
A good keeper who will do us till we get back to the top. Then we need a keeper who is a level up.

The_Blue_Flash 390
He deserves a new contract, he has waited and waited, and stepped up when we needed him the most, its the least we can go, hurry up Ally, get him signed.
TheBoyDave 123
I think he is worth new contract on same or similar terms perhaps 2 years with further year option sounds fair to me.
