As the title says, Thomson of Dundee Hibs has resignsed from Spl board citing professional differences.

That league may just collapse as a result of this lol

The differences were that each side were arguing about who knew the least about football

He was liewell's right hand man as well. I wonder what is brewing.

Maybe his bank called in his loan?

Now THAT would make for an interesting story.

Dumb-dee Hibs up to its arse in debt, in-fighting amongst the siblings of the Thomson dynasty (heavy emphasis on the NASTY) and the serial-shagger (but not with his missus) skinny bastard removing himself from a position of influence.

The thot does plicken.

Fron the STV website. Stephen Thompson has resigned from his position on the board of the Scottish Premier League.

The Dundee United chairman's decision to quit comes under a week before detailed plans for league reconstruction are tabled to top flight clubs.

Last week, SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster said there was "unanimous" backing to plans to introduce 12 new teams into the league setup.

Proposals put forward would have seen the creation of a 12-team second tier, which would merge with the top flight mid-season and split into three divisions, each consisting of eight clubs.

Thompson was one of six members on the SPL's board. Ralph Topping, Neil Doncaster, Eric Riley, Duncan Fraser and Michael Johnston remain in their positions.

A statement from Dundee United read: "Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson has resigned from the SPL board with immediate effect, due to professional differences."

Thompson was elected onto the SPL board in September 2011.

. I am sure he was in the paper the other week saying how they had made a profit, and we weren't missed. Also odd that at the last vote for their 11-1 it was aberdeen that sided with liewell and not that specky twat.

The bold part is the biggest load of pish I've read in ages. What possible "professional differences" can one club' chairman have with other club chairman when all of them in that group have the common goal of trying to destroy Rangers FC?

It's bullshit.

The truth, however, will out.

The format of the league reconstruction maybe?

Is it not a coincidence that this is happening now after the BTC verdict ---- they seem to be attacking each other that plan "A" has fallen apart

If it was about league reconstruction he would have gone before now.

Either pressure from their bank (and they were under review when levein was boss); or

He has blinked and wants the investigation dropped.

Not if he thought up until now he could persuade the other board members to change their mind, could also be related to commission.

Although we all know where he stands with regards Rangers, so if he has left as a Result of something to do with Rangers you canbe assured that its more positive without him.
