It was they that dragged the whole scenario out over the closed season with their Club 12 piss. Dundee didn't have the time to buy in players good enough or enough time to raise enough money to buy them. They suffered the same way as us in that respect. If anyone is to blame, it is the SPL for the lack of leadership or anyone capable of making a decision, they dilly dallied round the decision and gave Dundee about a week and a half to build an SPL team, looking back it would have made sense to let Rangers take the 'club 12' status and deduct 30 points, Mr Smith would still be doing a job in the SFL1, Scottish football wouldn't be on the verge of collapse, and diddy clubs in the SPL would have had the best chance ever to get one over us for a couple of seasons.
