legalbeagle 3,734
That run in the CL is my first real vivid memory of being a fan. The joy of the comeback against Marseille (and laughing at the idiots who left early); the surrealism of Nissy's goal against Brugge and the heartache of 0-0 at home in the last game, all mixed in with fantastic away performances. We were giants that year.

DronganExile 84
How would we do in Europe now with a team like that? Easy to forget how good that team was. Also played in a belter of a strip (probably my favourite).
peter huistra 1,740
44 games undefeated ! probably my favourite season was only 9 at the time but i remember every game and the scorer from those magical games in the CL , the leeds games are abit foggy in my memory but Huistra`s goal in Brugge has always stayed vivid . black75 46
Was the best team I have seen. Travelled over there on the old waterside rangers bus and never got a ticket ended watching it in a hotel bar. Great times
kplfishtank 4,657
Brilliant trip we stayed in Avignon before heading down for the game. In those days I could do bus journeys. Now I struggle on a bus to Elgin

Bigcid 22
I feel auld watching that did anyone else notice how fit all the players in that team looked compared to the current players in the Scottish leagues also that strip was awesome.
Sander2006 50
Cheating bastards indeed. Did they not bung the Russian team (CSKA I think) to lose 6-0 so they could go through? Additionally did some of the rangers players (I think Hateley was one) claim that they were offered money to throw matches? Also was that not the same year we pumped Leeds in the battle of Britain (GIRUY Cantona)? Memories going since it was such a long time ago now, but a truly great season. WadeWilson 4,670
Basile Boli. There was a young left-winger in the PSV team that went by the name of Arthur Numan.Special mention also to young 'striker' Egil Ostenstad, who played in the tie against Barcelona in the 1st round. A Barca team in which Sergio Busquets' Da was understudy to Zubizaretta.Feeling old yet...?
