An FF poster recently filed a Freedom of Information request concerning functions, conferences and meetings held at the various football stadiums in Glasgow. He also requested the cost of holding such events.

The response can be viewed in full at http://forum.followfollow.com/showthread.php?t=977832

All told, that’s over £90,000 of your money spent by GCC on conferences at Celtic Park and just over £1,000 at Ibrox.

A cynic might suggest there’s a pattern at play here and perhaps something else.

Do you know if the guy from FF has went down the whistleblowing route?

We should all make an enquiry:

This is one of the first of many fights that will only take place once we have some fucking boardroom stability with directors who appreciate what we are up against & are prepared to stand up to the tarrier tyranny who currently hold many of the major positions in media, politics and sporting associations.

We don`t want special treatment but parity would be nice.

it's like this chaps - it's the size of the conference suite...

we can hold a max of 200

they can hold a max of 600

200 is not a good size for a conference tbh and you also need good sized breakout rooms (which we don't have)

... the stuff I go to has 500 plus at them....  especially larger conferences that need to get a message out to as many people as possible.

anything we develop in the future should look to maximise profit - conferences are good money makers!

It could be but are they using it for 500+ or are they using it for 200 whereas this should be going to Ibrox etc.

GCC have probably tied it up in a tendering process where they're asking for10 events, which is 2 events for 500 people and 8 events for 200 which means only the savcos can apply.

Has anyone ever done one of these FOIs on the amount of Tims working in GCC on full time contracts .

That would be revealing I'm certain.

See they are clever bastards .

For every bear that works out In the Dustbin lorries ,there will be 100 more Tims in decision making admin posts in Chambers and various other authority outlets like Housing etc around the City and even most of  the Country

My brother's been in the Paedodome for a wedding before. They have a big banqueting hall in the Celtic end but there's a large lounge area with bars for folk to mill about in before they go get fed. "Top level" according to him even though he's the type of cunt who would try and take a magic marker in to leave Torbett menchies in the bogs.

On the other hand, at the start of this season at Ibrox, the modesty boards between urinals were still needing repaired from last season and the fridges weren't working. That's the difference.

I know I sound a bit taigy but I know some of those conferences mentioned and they were very well attended.

Like I said it's a money maker that we should consider in any future developments.
