Copa del rey - FINAL!

Are Barca fans generally critical of Messi when he does absolutely nothing in a game ?

He looks tired and jaded and unhappy but it's kind of a chicken and egg situation. Is his attitude bad because of how Barcelona are playing or are they playing that way because his attitude his bad? For most of the game nobody passed the ball to him. He used to demand it, in that situation, but he doesn't seem to have the heart. The way play is constantly focused down the wings (even though none of the wide players every do anything with it) completely takes him out of the game.

The whole team need a kick up the arse, but two humiliations in a week don't seem to have done it and I doubt this third one will either. They look like they did under Rijkaard in 2008.

Maybe he'll be looking for a wee move away

Barcelona have went down hill big time. Have needed to sign a centre half or two for the past few season and never done so, now they can't because they have an embargo. Don't rate either of their goalkeepers either, especially Pinto, should have saved the first goal.

Their manager was pretty much hand picked by Messi and to me always gets his team selections totally wrong. Played Neymar again tonight and he was shite just like the last time they played Madrid. Fabregas aswell, never seems to work when they overload the midfield with Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas all playing at once with Messi dropping back. Much more effective with Sanchez

and or Pedro IMO. Bigger goal scoring threats and give them more pace and width. Far too predictable and relient on one man.

Barca are done now though, can't see them winning La Liga.

Seems it's just went tits up for them, the tika taka football isn't working and Messi isn't dragging them out single handidly anymore. Must be looking to get a new manager in for next season and depending on this transfer ban a few defenders.

It isn't against Barcelona's footballing philosophy to have defenders. Segarra, Bianquetti, Puyol, Koeman. Some of the best CBs of all time have fit in well to the Barca philosophy.

Here's a decent article Ben Hayward wrote on Barca's situation:
