A winger doesn't really seem to fit into the way McCoist sets the team up. Smith's team were much the same for the majority of his second spell too.

It seems to be more about guys who can put a shift in defensively than guys who are going to try and roast the full back everytime they get the ball.

Not a great fan of Ally as manager but to be fair to him he has signed two pretty good wingers, Aluko & Templeton, and did give Aird a reasonable run last season. Would certainly like to have seen McKay given more of a chance but none of us know what happens behind the scene.

Kenny McLean has also had a good season as well. If we are going after midfielders will we be keeping Hutton as well?

If his attitude is right he would stroll it in the Championship and would be seen as someone for the longer term.

If its true then he has the potential to be a good signing.

Allen will link up well with Mcleod, Shields and Clarke.

He played a total of 361 minutes in his spl career which I suppose is twice as much as he played all of last season. For someone reckoned to have lots of ability and no injury record he has played very little football.
