Djokovic looks a dick, and has been publically humiliated. Federal Government look vindictive and incompetent. Victorian State government look like the right hand doesn't know what the lefts doing. Oddly only the organisers - who ultimately facilitated the whole mess - come out it looking best. The whole thing was very avoidable, and I can't help but feel the situation was politicised to the max in order to make a point. It was no secret Djokovic was coming - he is one of the most high profile people, let alone sports person in the world, this didnt exactly surprise anyone - so ultimately, why grant him a visa in the first place? Djokovic shouldn't have been allowed to go in the first place, however its very telling that his visa has been removed and it was removed without anything to do with the ME, which was the original reason to cancel it. Took them x amount of days to come up with anti vax reasons and potential public protests to send him home. Absolute shambles.
