llgersll 6 Posted August 27, 2014 Share Posted August 27, 2014 I know people want a new manager, better coaching, better tactics, better players, we all want a vast improvement this season as we must gain promotion. The defence is poor whether because of bad players, bad organisation, bad coaching or a combination we have to improve, this is probably the most important season in our history. McCoist, MacDowall and Durrant were all attacking players and have no idea how to set out a defence, 11 players in the box at set pieces is not the answer even then we still find it difficult to win the ball. Last season we didn't lose many league goals but only because of poor finishing by the opposition, teams created lots of chances against our defence but couldn't finish, this season the standard against us should be higher. I would bring in a defensive coach, ex-players have offered to help and work for nothing, no matter what we will have the same management team and they obviously don't have a clue how to organise a defence so we need help before it is too late. gersandy 594 Posted August 27, 2014 Share Posted August 27, 2014 I watch our defence sometimes and wonder what goes on at Murray Park. Off the ball our positioning is terrible. When the keeper has the ball he has no options. It seems as if the coaching staff set up the defence to just punt it up the park. No diagonal runs, nobody making space. As much as I like big Mohsni I'd move McGregor into the other centre back slot when Foster is back fit again.
