ThatNightInFlorence 696
So listening to the BT commentators and McCall says as the goalkeeper was in front of Miller who tapped in from Tavernier that the goal was therefore offside even although they had a man on the line playing Miller on.When did this rule come to pass and what would stop a goalkeeper going up for corners all the time now if any pass behind the goalkeeper would be deemed offside? TheKingObv 10,647
It's always been there And it doesn't have to be a keeper. Just any 2 opposing players, which usually is a keeper plus one defender
RFC55 109,212
Also you can't be offside in your own half that's why the keeper couldn't always come up. It's also only if its a forward pass

Iakona 2,261
A player is in an offside position if he is nearer to the oppositions goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponentThe last player doesn't need to be a keeper... it can be anyone. Misteral 2,932
Miller was clearly offside, Clark just offside, Tavernier not offside. Conclusion-the OP is a girl.
DarcheVinny 1,003
Read the rule on the SFA website. It hasn't changed.Forget about the goalkeeper. There must be two players in front of a ball receiver inside the opppsition half for a forward pass to be onside.
dummiesoot 16,011
The OP is a burd, got to be. Two defending players must be goalside, one of them does not have to be a goalkeeper.Think of it this way, you are looking at a nice pair of high heels, between you and the shoes is another wummin, with another wummin behind you, you would be offside in going for those high heels as it stands. Copland bear 7,966
Stupid rule, the keeper should be irrelevant, if he is level with last defender then he should be onside, nearly as daft as you can take a goal kick from either side regardless where it went off. Why not corners also?2 good goals chopped off and our first penalty since something like October , i wonder if Timmy has ever been without a penalty for that amount of time in their history? 5 Going on 9, now for Ayr and then Hiv? Teams are gonna start to fear us again very very soon,
Redwhiteandblue 3,330
WOW. Someone that is so much into football that they use a football forum to discuss it doesn't even know the offside rule.Did you never get the off-side rule explained to you when you were a kid? cushynumber 25,178
Miller was offside and should have left it. Tavs other goal was onside. The linesmen were shocking throughout.
AldoKrfc 106
Soon as I seen Miller touch it instead of jumping I was raging but he got away with it. OP I bet you've slagged women in the past for not knowing the offside rule lol

Brubear 2,927
5th Goal was not offside. The official rule is that there must be a minimum of 2 opposition players ahead of the persn recieving the all when played forward bya pyer on the own team. An bopposition player ho is off the field of play counts s one of the 2 whereas a plaer on the attacking side off the field of play is not interferring with play. This is tstop an opposition layer deliberately stepping off the par to make a player offside. As a defender for years I used to hate this fact.Alloa had a player off the park next to the gaol post whocounted as the secondplayer.
