September  2016

Will it go down as the best month in recent history  ?

Only 3 spfl games Ross County at home either side are away games,  Torbett Towers and Aberdeen

9 points would make it a month to remember for some time

It will be a big ask, County won the cup last year :D

Celtic could have one or two of their opening matches postponed.  Their team is still coming together and getting knocked out against Astana would be a real kick in teeth for them.  It's important that Rangers hit the ground running and put real pressure on early.  We should be looking to go in to the first Old Firm game a few points ahead with a result in that game putting us in a great early position.

Best of it is,  I was talking to my gaffer last night at the pub and she said I've not to work any old firms :gerbad:

Exactly what @THE_MIGHTY_BEARS said, we hit the ground running. Thoroughly beat the opposition and take advantage of the fact that Brenda has a ton of deadwood to sift through to find players he'll want to use, get rid of the deadwood, work on the players he's got and then bring in more players who then take time to adjust.

That could take him possible months. Months where our established squad needs to thoroughly win games. Get an early goal within 20-30 minutes. Otherwise there is a good chance teams will just sit behind the ball. The difference between Annan sitting behind the ball and St J, is that St J has the ability to properly punish with a counter attack. So early goal will force them out and make them need to open up at which point we can exploit them.

Come September, the best possible position for us to be in is to be at the very least 5 points ahead, widening the gap to 8 points, so that come Hogmany the point gap get widened  for the turn of the year. After that next game is the 28th and only 5 games till the next old firm. We keep up a strong 8+ plus lead on them, we can increase it too 11 right then and there then 4 games till the last game after that old firm. IF we have 11 points going into that 3rd old firm, there's a good chance we'll be wrapping up the league at the pedodome :pipe: now wouldn't that be a place and a half to get 55!

Not being funny but we need to estblish a starting 11 too... Although in fairness our core squad were all together and, three of them already played together down south too.

I'd feel much more confident if we brought in a solid centre back, someone like Cuellar when he signed.

Boogie has offered to come back a few times, it would work in a strange way if his pace had dropped, keeps him from running out of position,

Although it needs to be a right footer to  cover Tav, Wallace is better at getting back, Kiernan  has a lot to learn/prove, we all want him to do well proved v taigs he can but needs to be bossed

I'd love big Boogie back.  His experience would be invaluable.  Knows what is expected at Rangers, have played in many Old Firms and done brilliantly, can pass it around at the back.  Not seem a lot of the big recently right enough.

Its a bit frustrating at present as we cant really judge where we are on who we have played so far other than the second half against Motherwell. We still have'nt seen all our new players but we appear to be quietly going through the gears and should be in full stride come the meeting with the Glasgow Palestine's.

It's a long time from May to September.

Unless you are a police detective investigating criminal doings by Hibs fans at the cup final in May.........

In which case it's even longer- at least, that's what it seems like.
