LeeWallaceRFC 3,920
Quote Professional photographer Willie Vass covered his first Rangers match in 1986, and was thrilled when he landed a staff job at the Rangers News. For the past 25 years he has freelanced for all the major papers covering the Ibrox club through both the good times and bad. 220 games spanning four years and thousands of miles on the road completed "The Journey" for Willie. Demoted to the lowest league in the land, this is the story of how Glasgow Rangers picked themselves up off the canvas and fought back. With the incredible backing of an army of fans, this great sporting institution wasn’t about to remain grounded for any length of time. A remarkable story – in words and pictures – of The Journey back to the top. 192 pages bound in a hardback A4 landscape format book wrapped in a glossy colour dust jacket. From Brechin to Barton, Glasgow Rangers: The Journey (Mission Accomplished) tells the incredible story - in words and stunning colour pictures - of a record-breaking club's demise and rise. Financial woes, serious mismanagement and a string of embarrassing on-field displays had supporters wondering just how their club had ended up in such a mess. Demoted to the bottom tier of Scottish football by a seemingly uncaring legislative body and blood-seeking rival clubs, Rangers had to clamber up from the depths of the game, but far from being left to do it alone, they were backed by the most incredible supporters Scottish football has ever witnessed. While those clubs who voted to demote the Gers could only dream of 'sell-out Saturdays' Rangers regularly posted the highest attendances in the country - and beyond. The indomitable spirit of a club under siege eventually won the day, and thanks to the sterling efforts of many groups and individuals, ensuring Rangers will be here for future generations to support and cherish. From that first Ramsdens Cup match against Brechin City, to the signing of colourful midfielder Joey Barton, this book captures perfectly 'the journey' to hell and back. http://gersjourney.co.uk/store Been a massive fan of Willie's work for a number of years now. His galleries used to be incredibly popular on this forum. Would recommend at least checking the website out, even if you decide not to purchase a copy. WeirFleckNRothen 1,789
When I was at uni, back in around 2009, I used to love a swatch of his training and match galleries. I've been a regular on his site ever since. I first seen him up at Elgin in December, 2012, during our time in the Third Division. He at the burger van taking a picture of a pie.
