steven33jackie 1,946
Wasn't at the game today but followed the stream at work, saw a post about Tav looking good in midfield , I have long thought this should be tried more often and have Hodson at right back. It worked well for Ricksen when he moved into the midfield after a poor start to his Rangers career at right back. Thoughts ?
Blackandra 732
I'd agree. Looked pretty decent there when he came on.

Thoughts ? yes, especially now that Clint can't play the Hearts game and we are decimated in midfield. Back line of Hodson Wilson Kiernan Wallace, mids Halliday (DM) JT and HF/Jason Holt... Courtyard Bear 41,357
Would play him anywhere but defence.
centenarystand 2,227
The good thing is we didnt concede any goals from the right back area.....
SuperTav 970
Tavernier. He came on as a sub into midfield, a few runs forward through the middle, looked comfortable. Hodson had a great game at right back, and based on Tav's form over the past few weeks, I would give Hodson a shot again against Hearts. Whether Tav is effective as a midfielder remains to be seen. Band of Brothers 10,303
What I never got was it worked fairly well against the bheasts then changed it back he should have stuck with it as Hodson is a better defender.

cushynumber 25,178
get Tav in front of Hogson til the end of the season. We will be much harder to beat. If we dont start like that against Hearts i'll eat my own feaces

Blumhoilann 6,712
When Tav was coming on,I thought MW was going to hook Hodson, lol, glad he didn't.Tav did alright in MF,could be something in that today.

When he does that he has Hodson right behind him and can get forward as well. That says 4-4-2 - but actually when you look at it - its not that far removed from today - just a bit more defensively minded. If he starts 4-4-2 with Hogson at RB and Tav right in front he can still have Holt Halliday - and say Mackay on the left mid with Miller and Garner or Waghorn up front. Its not a million miles from what we had today - it just sets us up a bit more solidly
DamienM855 413
I'd play him as our DM until Rossiter is fit, unless Crooks steps up his game. He looked decent there today, but against better teams like Hearts and Celtic I'm not so sure.
Swagger 8,216
He's never a defender but he could be a decent option on the right side going forward. More of a footballing brain than MOH

gersandy 594
Taverniers not great at right back. Much stronger in midfield.
A.T.G 10,773
Whatever happens with Tav, I wouldn't drop Hodson, he is solid, compact and can also hit them, thought he was excellent today Would be severely pissed of if he was dropped Gutted about Hill
