not only that , it would have been a PR disaster for the club if we hadn't offered him a role.

We don’t seem to care about PR disasters given our most recent signing

He signed a new contract at the tail end of last year (after the McInnes shit show) which ended May 31st and formally left the U20s role.

Haven’t seen this info published anywhere except this post any proof of that?

It was widely reported at the time. The club's statement appointing his as manager - a few months after he was appointed interim manager - alludes to it.

As U20s head coach he is on a standard employment contract with no defined expiry - as with all the other Academy coaches, when he was appointed manager on December 22nd he signed a fixed-term contract until the end of the campaign.

The 20s role was never permanently filled - with one eye on Murty returning to it if he wasn't given a new long-term deal as manager as he's very highly thought of by Mulholland.

No, because it was Ryan Jack's quote not Murty's. The very bit that was missed, imo at least, shows that Jack disagreed with the part of the OP that was in bold and directly making reference to the way Murty handled it at the time and his comments.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but what you're saying is that we constantly piss and moan about wanting 'balance' - as long as that balance is skewed towards Rangers?

I'm honestly not sure if you are at the wind up at times.

Hellish tackle and should have been dealt with by the compliance officer since the ref did nothing.

100pc correct. but due to the weighted system it was never going to happen.

if it was the other way around .the media would have had Jack banned before he had his post match shower

You disagree that the people at the club have a bit more idea about it than posters on here do?

Sorry, wasn't aware that's how it works. Will refrain from discussing signings/team selections/tactics/subs from now on as obviously it's wrong to give an opinion on club matters on a forum for discussing things like that.

You didn't know that people who work with him on a daily basis have a better insight than people who have had no interaction with him?

Feel free to offer an opinion on anything you please but don't get pissy when others offer theirs.

Aww man the irony of this

When did Gerrard work with Murty on a daily basis?

Mulholland and Allen have. Gerrard as the incoming manager was given final approval.

So let me get this straight. You're saying the people work with him day in day out have a better opinion of him than those who don't, yet you're throwing Gerrard's name in their to add more weight to your argument even though he's never worked with him.

Standard stuff from yourself. Anything to have a different opinion from the majority. Sad really.

Why would he have got a straight red for it? How many assaults on our players last season resulted in a straight red?

Don't know off the top of my head but you can change the word would to should if it makes you feel better.

Allan and Mulholland have worked with him every day. Both think highly of him. Both have built that impression up from consistently working with him. Gerrard, after taking advice from them, was happy to keep him around.

For sure, I hope SG will be much more vocal on situations like this next season.

OK, so you're changing your argument midway through the debate, could have just said that's what you were doing but OK.
