Wouldn't read too much into that, Roofe could have been with physio/specialist or doing one on one training in order to make the game, and not been made available by the club.

Either way he has always taken a few games to get up to speed and I don't think he'll get much game time before the final. I'd be going similar set up as we did against leipzig with either Aribo or Sakala leading the line.

Question: would you start a not fully fit Roofe over Aribo as a false 9?

Personally, I'm not sure I would. As mad as it sounds going into a final Roofe takes ages to get up to speed and Aribo did alright there. Team above individuals. A big call for Gio if he declares himself fit, huge tactical call.

Not a chance I’d start Roofe takes him about 4/5 games to get upto speed after injury and then he’s inevitably injured again.

That doesn't make sense when there is 2 weeks and 3 games between receiving the head knock and the final.

Not a lot makes sense when it comes to concussion, it’s something we surprisingly know little about.

i'm leaning to the same, but you know many will give it the 'cant believe you start a final without a striker'.

The false 9 might present a different type of problem to Frankfurt though.  Both Barca and West Ham played with a more traditional front 3 I think

Think false 9 could actually work well against their back 3 if it can draw one of the centre backs out and leave space for likes of Kent and Sakala in behind

My point was the protocol does not make sense if UEFA was to exclude him from th final due to it being his next European game after the head knock if he has played domestic games in between. Cannot believe he would be excluded.
