Beckham Documentary (Netflix)

I actually haven't seen the documentary either.

I just know from my own eyes, and from reading about Beckham from his own team mates, world class players like Zidane and Figo, who have always extolled how good his vision, his work rate, how relentless his winning attitude was and his overall approach to fitness.

If we minimised the skill in his right foot its feasible he still is a top tier player, just a different type of player, someone like Gattuso had no great technical ability but he made up with that with his work rate and relentless attitude.

Look at Thomas Muller. There's nothing in him that stands out technically about him. He's below average at many things - something he would admit himself. But he's the most decorated German footballer of all time mainly because of his attitude, work rate and an innate ability to see things that others don't see.

Taking the piss because it was an open goal to be honest mate 😂

It's cheap laugh though, you all know I didn't mean literally, let's put it like this way, if his right foot was of the same standard as other parts of his game he wouldn't had the career he had.

Of course it is mate but there is no malice to it. We could all do with a wee laugh at the moment.

The point being made is that his ability with his right blinds people to his other attributes and the media have done their lazy thing and gone along with it putting it in people's minds.

If he could tackle as well as he took free kicks he would have been an even better player.

We are pretty much saying the same thing. A bit like the glass half full half empty bollocks 😂

It was a cracking watch. I was actually surprised how level headed  and dare I say normal him and his family are given his celebrity and fame. No doubt one of the greats and you can see how much he still loves the game which isn't always the case when retirement comes calling. Proper football man

I just had a thought that we changed for Inter Milan (in the 80s) too.

Lyon was quite a weird one. They wore their home kit at home and we went all blue.

They then adopted all black for the rest of their CL campaign.

Great documentary, but take his eyes away and he never scores all them free kicks.

Honestly he was that good he'd still have scored most of them. Genuinely one of the best dead ball specialists of all time
