psb07158 35,335
I think Harry Kane is the perfect striker, he hasn’t had a great tournament and he’s beginning to slow down due to his age, but he’s still by far the best option England have

Only cunt who can prove me wrong is Kane himself. He’s been poor but his strength is his ability to drop in and play not only as a goalscorer but a playmaker. To be successful he needs a Son, a Musiala type around him. graeme_4 37,626
Has very Rangers under Gerrard vibes. Very structured and side to side, with nothing breaking lines. bassettger

Walter Smith did it brilliantly with Kris Boyd. Southgate doesnt have the brains to do that with Kane, though. bassettger

King Jela 21,694
To be fair, if he insists on playing Kane then surely he has to play to his strengths with Gordon on his left and Saka on the right to get in behind? Having him and Foden drop in alongside Bellingham is a hopeless tactic. johanhentze

Kane is completely ineffective.

PromDeAnglais 6,801
The left hand side is the issue IMO. Foden rarely plays at all on the left for City and you can see why. Tripper shoehorned in to LB and cuts back on to his right every time he receives the ball and they have to go back instead of breaking down the left. Too many players shoehorned in to positions, ultimately the blame is on Southgate for refusing to change the system despite obvious shortcomings. Somemightsay7 3,104
I'm glad Southgate is being found out. He's a terrible manager who is completely inept tactically. He's had unheard of luck in the draws he's got in tournaments. bassettger
