I really like that all of the British athletes seem like very nice, down to earth people. Very relaxing to listen to folk like that.

Excepting Josh Kerr obv.

Massive Ego on him for sure.

Simone Biles is incredible.

Got to say, to be so recognisable in the world of sport, despite competing in a sport like gymnastics - something that only ever gets air time during the Olympics. It's testament to her star.

I would struggle to name you another gymnast from the last 25yrs.

Studied in the USA since he was 18/19 and has barely been home since. Kind of shows as he has a fairly Americanised attitude towards sports in terms of self belief.

The Olympics certainly havent covered themselves in glory from a moral standpoint. Having a competitor with an XY chromosome fighting women doesn't sit right with me. Throw in the fact they allowed a pedo to compete and I feel these incidents will shadow all the good that's happened from the medal winners

She’s a woman. She was born a woman. Has fought and lost to other woman in the past.

So you didn’t even get past the opening paragraph. Ok.

He’s arguing from a position that is demonstrably not true. She’s a woman.

There's a lot of confusion surrounding this at the moment.

It seems like the IBA conducted a test which concluded the boxer wasn't eligible to fight as a female. Nobody knows what this test was but the boxer did not contest this decision which is rather important.

I think it's likely they are DSD in which case present as biologically male in many key measures including testes and therfore testosterone production.

Also the fact they've been beaten by women is utterly irrelevant. If I stepped into a boxing ring plenty heavyweight females would flatten me, doesn't mean I don't have an unfair sporting advantage.

How are they demonstrably female?

I'm not having a go, genuinely curious how you can conclude this.

You should definitely tell Dr Ross Tucker that he is arguing from a position that’s demonstrably untrue.

'I did my PhD in Exercise Physiology studying fatigue, the brain and the limits to performance.'

Don't mean to be funny, but please tell me you're not saying he's right cause he's got a PHD. Cause there's plenty of extreme crackpots on the other side with nice adjacent qualifications and prestigious jobs too.

No, I know that’s a specialism. We always go on in here about ‘sources’ - he’s a sports scientist explaining the biology behind the issue and presenting a moderate view that the IOC are to blame (despite the eye catching intro to his podcast)
