edranger 0
Reports in Italy suggest that Serie A giants could make a surprise move for Rangers hitman Kris Boyd. Corriere dello Sport claims that the Scottish striker, who is also being courted by Birmingham City, could be the subject of a dream move abroad after the Rome based club were impressed by his tally of 70 goals in 90 games. Rangers have slapped an £3.75m valuation on the striker which could be a stumbling block for the Serie A side whose financial state is somewhat unclear. The report claims that the requisite funds will only be made available if Stephen Makinwa and Simone Inzaghi complete moves away from Lazio. http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/12675..._Kris_Boyd.aspx There is no chance of Rangers striker Kris Boyd joining Lazio, according to the Italian club's chairman Claudio Lotito. disgruntled_bear 157
Lazio Aim To Beat Birmingham City To Rangers Striker Kris Boyd Former Scotland striker Kris Boyd is a surprise candidate to move to Serie A club Lazio, who aim to beat off competition from the likes of Birmingham City to sign the prolific goal scorer. Lazio are examining the prospect of making a surprise move for Glasgow Rangers striker Kris Boyd. The Roman club, reports suggest, will make room for him by selling Stephen Makinwa and Simone Inzaghi. The former Scotland international has been heavily linked with a move to Championship side Birmingham City, who want his goal to help push the Blues back towards the Premier League. However, these plans could be ruined by the Italian side. La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the Formello-based club are keen on the hit-man, who has been impressive this term. The 25-year old has struck 70 goals in 90 games for Rangers and this statistic has triggered great interest from the Biancocelesti. However, signing the striker will not be cheap for Lazio. President Claudio Lotito is not keen on spending big amounts and even Boyd's €8 million price tag could be a problem for the Romans. As well as this, there are a number of sides in England who are all keen on taking Boyd from Rangers. Lazio will face a tough battle with Birmingham coach Alex McLeish. The former Scotland tactician revealed he is likely to make a late bid for the Rangers hit-man before the January transfer window closes at the end of the month. The Italians will need to move in quickly if they are to land their target. http://www.goal.com/en/news/698/lazio/2009...riker-kris-boyd
