I honestly don’t think that reporters are covering this up, I’m sure at least one of them would be desperate to report on this scandal, it’s being blocked by either the owners or editors of the SMSM who will be getting pressure from further up the food chain, this has all the hallmarks of perpetrators in high positions being involved in the practice preventing exposure in order to save their hides.

I would not disagree with one word of that mate.

The only way we will get a journalist to run with it is if they come from outside Scotland, probably the UK, and I am not very hopeful of that ever happening unfortunately.

There's a reporter from the Miami Herald, Julie K Brown who has been doing a major exposure of Epstein and his ring, and has been instrumental in moving the police and courts into action.

Mike Cernovich was the original guy that brought this case to court, after a it became apparent that this was being priced out his range, that was when the Miami Herald and others seen the journalistic value in pursuing this. Like you I can see this being one hell of a revelation. Already had Bill Clinton out spinning lies as to how he only went a couple of times with Epstein, by the way this is really across all political, powerful and influential spectrum's, its big and as you say this will put a lot of people in jail.  This was only to highlight the origin of this case and not to distract from your point. :tu:

Yes someone like him but who is not a tarrier backer like he was mate. I keep thinking there must be some journalist who would want to get this terrible story out in the open and make a name for themselves but as 'slimjim' says it needs the bosses to agree as well.

Fenians are getting a free ride (no pun intended) in our once famous legal system.
That fenian cunt McGowan, who might still be at Dundee was allowed to play football when he was on a 24 hour tag.
His crime was assaulting 3 separate plod on 3 separate occasions.
These are 2 cases which woulda resulted in porridge for the majority of the public.

Probably annoys the fuck out of me after an 18 year old Rangers fan got 4 months for singing the word FENIAN.

Slightly off topic.

Today I was listening to Radio 2 there was a guy on who had been kicked out his uni for anti gay anti same sex comments on his private Facebook page. He was quoting the Bible believing this to be a sin in Christianity.

He took the uni to court and won. Reason being we live in a free country and we are entitled to say what we like even if other folk don't agree with it or are offended.

This seems to be where the Republic of Scotland differs from the rest of the UK and EU.

Back on topic now.

I was also thinking today about the outrage if other serious crimes. Such as adult rape, murder, people trafficking armed robbery were to be covered up institutionally. It just wouldn't happen.

But in the year 2019 paedophilia arguably the worst crimes of all due to the level of psychological damage the victims get left with for the vast majority of their lives is getting routinely covered up everywhere.

Scary how much control these disgusting peado fuckers have in this world.

And its out children they are preying on.

The whole justice system is a joke, a guy gets 5 year for abusing a child at the Sheriff court ,who decided that he should be tried there instead of the High Court, you have people sentenced to probation, community service for the vilest of crimes.

Meanwhile the jails are full with in the majority a bunch of dafties  who get blootered  maybe get in a fight with some other daftie  and end up doing a couple of year.

Men and women who have serious addiction problems in and out of jail and 99% of them will be the victims of either physical or sexual abuse through out their lives .

Middle class or the upper classes making and dispensing justice on people they haven't really got a clue on their everyday living experience.

Most will never have  encountered someone from a scheme , can't associate with the pressure that is ( in their eyes the underclass) on young people to conform ,you either join the gang,go with the flow or your fucked.

When you are raised in the "Little house on the prairie"  how can they possibly know what it takes to survive and work your way through this.

it's like everything else ,as long as someone is making money they don't give a monkey's , they know who the major players are in all the areas of criminality but as long as it is not affecting them and theirs it will continue.

Police,Politicians,Judges the lot have known what has been going on at celtic before any of it came to light , how you break through the wall of silence is anyone's guess but the only hope is that their are good People who will expose them and bring justice to their victims .

Kick them Out.

99pc might be a tad high for male prisoner but would agree about woman prisoners.Cornton Vale is of women who are in there for commiting crimes involving drug related issues ie theft to fund a habit or selling to fund a habit. A habit caused from being abused as a minor.

From today's Times:

celtic FC and its scandal-hitfeeder club shared an identical child protection policy, undermining the Scottish Premiership outfit’s refusal to accept responsibility for systematic sexual abuse.

Four men who held senior roles with celtic Boys Club (CBC) have been convicted of molesting dozens of children over three decades. While expressing “regret and sorrow” for the victims, celtic FC insists that it is not legally responsible for the abuse, describing the boys’ club as an entirely separate organisation.

However, it has emerged that both organisations shared a child protection policy, entitled Aware and Confident, which was introduced in 1997, months after abuse allegations first appeared in the press.

The Times has also seen an archived copy of the CBC website on which it describes itself as “the only official celtic Boys Club” and features an image of young players and officials at celtic Park.

“The privileged place we hold in the worldwide celtic family will never be taken for granted,” it says.

The boys’ club site also confirmed that its registered address was “Barrowfield Park, Glasgow”, a celtic FC training ground.

The child protection document stresses that CBC had an independent constitution, officers and rules, but adds: “The boys’ club has a long and proud association with Celtic FC which has proved of mutual benefit. CBC has agreed to implement this code of practice.

“This means that staff and volunteers working with the boys’ club will be subject to the same code of ethics, vetting procedures, good practice and procedural requirements as applies to staff and volunteers of celtic FC.” Its stated goal was to eradicate the risk of abuse to boys in teams which are “legitimately using the name celtic”.

celtic FC began an internal investigation in 1986 after media reports raised serious concerns about child welfare. Frank Cairney, the CBC general manager, was allowed to continue in his role after the club found “nothing to substantiate” the claims. He finally left his role in 1991 amid allegations that he abused a boy on an American summer tour.

However, in 2008 the CBC website paid tribute to Cairney, saying: “The section on the history of the club would not have been possible without the assistance of Mr Frank Cairney. We are grateful to him for that assistance.”

His victims had to wait until last December before Cairney, 83, was convicted of nine charges of sexually abusing young footballers. Cairney, who is serving a four-year jail sentence, abused boys in a dressing room at celtic Park.

A report on the CBC website, which was deleted after the club was renamed St Patrick’s Sports Academy last year, noted: “The future success of the boys’ club was probably secured when Frank Cairney was appointed general manager in 1970.

“His brief was to develop and recruit players for celtic FC.”

In May The Times published articles from the celtic View, the club’s official magazine, which spoke of an “official connection” between celtic FC and CBC.

Patrick McGuire, a partner at Thompsons Solicitors who is pursuing claims against celtic FC on behalf of dozens of abuse survivors, said: “This is yet more evidence, if any more evidence is required, of the absolute legal interconnection and interdependence between celtic Boys Club and the football club.”

celtic FC, which denies CBC was its feeder club, failed to respond to a request for comment.

Last month Peter Lawwell, the chief executive of celtic FC, claimed that the club had been conducting its own internal investigation. He added: “It would be quite inappropriate for us to be discussing highly sensitive and confidential legal matters in the media, and we will not do so, even if that means we come under criticism for following the due legal process.”

Why would you name a child protection policy  ”Aware and Confident”?

I suspect they’re suggesting that they need to be confident that the victims are telling the truth and ensuring that any doubt is put to the forefront.

At last!!!  A letter to a constituent yes, but this is now her public message and should be quoted at every opportunity.

Share away on social media and continue to put pressure on media, sponsors, politicians etc until the Independent review is granted.

celtic Boys Club abuse: Ruth Davidson joins calls for inquiry

Marc Horne

July 18 2019, 12:01am, The Times

The Scottish Conservative leader said that survivors had been let down.

Ruth Davidson has joined opposition parties to demand an independent inquiry into systematic sexual abuse at celtic FC’s feeder club and its links to the Parkhead outfit.

The Scottish Conservative leader claimed that survivors had been badly let down and called for an investigation to establish “what celtic FC knew about these offences and when they knew it”. Scottish Labour and the Liberal Democrats also called for a public inquiry.

The calls will heap further pressure on the premiership club to follow the example of Manchester City, which has apologised and offered to compensate victims of the paedophile former youth coach Barry Bennell.

Four men who held senior roles with celtic Boys Club (CBC) have been convicted of sexually assaulting dozens of children. While expressing “regret and sorrow” celtic FC insists it is not culpable for the abuse, describing the boys’ club as a separate organisation.

Ms Davidson outlined her views in a letter to a constituent, seen by The Times. “The reports that have emerged in recent years are extremely distressing and while it is welcome that [the CBC founder] Jim Torbett and others have been convicted for their depraved acts, this issue clearly goes wider,” she wrote.

“Any further allegations of criminality must be swiftly investigated by the police so that further criminal proceedings can be brought while necessary. Through a series of trials we now know something of the scale of the abuse committed by a number of men associated with CBC. What we do not know is what celtic FC knew about these offences and when they knew it.

“These questions must now be independently and fully investigated and, if necessary, a compensation scheme should be established such as that set up this year by Manchester City.”

She added: “It is clear that victims of child abuse in football have been let down and I very much hope Police Scotland, clubs and the Scottish FA will give them the closure they need and they justice they deserve.

“Please be assured the Scottish Conservatives will closely monitor developments on this matter over the coming weeks and months.”

Last month Peter Lawwell, the chief executive of celtic FC, said that the club had been conducting its own internal investigation for two years.

James Kelly, Scottish Labour’s football spokesman, said that its findings should be made public. He added that it would “clearly be in the best interests of all . . . for celtic Football Club to commit to a further public inquiry which is open and transparent. I have raised these issues directly with celtic FC on behalf of constituents.”

Pauline McNeill, a Glasgow Labour MSP and celtic supporter, said: “celtic FC should in some way contribute to any reparations made to those affected by historic abuse at CBC.”

A Scottish Liberal Democrat spokeswoman added: “We are in favour of an inquiry.”

The Scottish government said it was awaiting the publication of a report commissioned by the Scottish FA into historical sexual abuse within football. A spokeswoman said: “We will carefully consider its findings.”

Mr Lawwell said: “It would be inappropriate for us to be discussing highly sensitive and confidential legal matters in the media and we will not do so, even if that means we come under criticism for following the due legal process.”
