Maybe because canada use him to the best of his abilities, last season arfield was playing in behind the striker and linking up well, he could conserve himself until we needed him during attacks,

Now we are asking him to play a role he's not suited, a role he maybe not fit for, in a system that's struggling for us this season

He hasn't been playing well and probably needs dropped, but he also needs a run of games in his better position to see if its him or not him that's the issue

Could well be the case. I have no doubt whatsoever that aribo would be contributing much more were he playing further forward aswell.

Its almost pointless starting him in the position he is being asked to play at the moment as he's contributing very little.

Slightly concerning that we can see that but the manager can't.

We dont need to attack from right back if we rest Tav. He hasn't missed a game in fuck knows how long, so he's surely due one. We have Barasic who we signed for his attacking against us on the europa league so we know we could just ask Barasic to do the attacking that Tav usually does (except on the left) five brought someone in for Tav for a couple of games. Surely Flanagan can do a job on his proper side. He's shown he can do it on the left  so you would think he could do it on his natural side...

We dont need to attack from the right?

Our default method of attacking is to play it down the right! Aye Barasic has come onto a game recently and with Kent coming back it should improve again, but go and watch the Hearts Highlights, Aberdeen Highlights, Motherwell Highlights....the ball is always down our right hand side. Flanagan hasnt shown he can do it on the left, he filled in there a few times but was brutal, lets not dress it up! He is a defensive fullback and the way we play relies on us having very offensive fullbacks. Playing Flanagan there would be a disaster, see Kilmarnock result in the last game of the season!

So if our default method is down the right then change it, if we have spent all this money and all these wages to have one attack style and that's down the right wing then we are fucked because better teams have nullified that threat

He’s been a waste of a jersey since the summer

Even worse than Ojo I’d say but doesn’t get the same stick because he runs about lots

Last season he was pressing players and winning the ball as well as being an attacking threat, this season he’s ghosting about the middle of the park marking thin air and hiding when we’re on tbe ball

If he wasn’t constantly giving away fouls on Sunday you wouldn’t have noticed he was playing

I dont think anyone has sat down and made a  decision that it is our default attacking position but our LHS has been so poor over the last few seasons thats its become our default stance.

Even this season, Barasic aside, we offer nothing down the left and that might change with a fit Jones and Kent but as long as its Ojo, Aribo or whoever else  has a go at it, we cant afford not to have Tav at RB as we are so dependant on him offensively!

As for teams being able to nullify that threat, in 20 games so far this season he has 9 assists, which is only bettered by James Forrest who has 11 in 21 games.

He doesnt need dropped, he doesnt need to be rested, he doesnt need to stripped of the captaincy...he needs support from other people in the team!

Should send him and Tav off for a couple of weeks holidays.

Arfield looks exhausted like every game is his first game back after a lay off and Tav is lacking confidence.

It's not like we don't have anyone who can fill in.

We shouldn’t be sending anyone off on holiday fucking hell  pro footballers on fortunes and you’re want to send them on a jolly halfway through one of our most important seasons ever? Either they shape up or find a club with lower demands.

Don’t get it, he was played off the striker at the end of last season, but only with Defoe as the main striker. This season he has played off Morelos who always looks better with wingers.

He’s not got going this season for me, but I’m confused about why he doesn’t play off Defoe to the same extent as last year - when Defoe starts, that is.

Involved twice in the first goal, winning the tussle laying it off getting it back then teeing up Aribo perfectly, or was that missed?

He was brilliant on that play but he didn't really offer much else or does that not matter to you? A shadow of the player he was last year.

Set us on our way, until he bins Canada and all the jet setting that involves he will always look a bit jaded, of course it matters and an on song Arfield would be a first pick but the Canadian jaunts are what imo has taken the edge from him.
