nik2402 1,319
He never seems to get the credit I feel he deserves from the support. Thought he was outstanding tonight. His passing was great and he won everything in the air. Brilliant performance.

KeyserSoze 14,532
He’s never really been poor at any time. Sure he’s been caught out a couple of times but in general he’s been pretty solid.
TopCat 4,511
Agree with the op 100% ..... some of our support are very hard on the big man but a clean sheet tonight shows he can cut it with the best Europe has to offer and come out on top. Played his part tonight in a famous win that should do his confidence the world of good.
five stars 1,621
He's got all the attributes to be a quality centre half just need to cut out the mistakes.

gmcf 34,174
I'm not his biggest fan , he's got a heid like a thrupenny bit , but thought he was excellent tonight . In fact I thought that was his best game considering the standard of opposition .

SkylineBlue 23,351
He's a whipping boy and it's daft. A very reliable central defender who gets the club. Long may he stay.
King Jela 20,361
Was a leader of men tonight. Bossed it.
Colin Traive 22,756
You wonder how he feels about nights like this. He wasn’t even first pick at Brighton and then, out of the blue, he’s offered the chance to up sticks and move hundreds of miles. Now he’s playing in the biggest derby in the world, 50,000 fans every other week, packed grounds, and playing all over Europe at a level his old teammates could only dream of. He must wonder to himself : “where did it all go right?”
Marky. 6,927
Marshalled a defence that was terrific all game long. Porto were playing some lovely stuff and though they did have the ball cleared off our line a couple of times, they didn’t really threaten any more than that as a result of some very competent defending. The whole back 4 should be proud, so too Glen Kamara who was excellent and saved us early on with a sublime clearance.
J_RFC87 761
Absolutely solid tonight
Essandoh 21,208
Beating that Porto boy to the header at the back post towards the end was absolutely tremendous defending. Rio Ferdinandesque.
GA1972 9,556
Not his biggest fan but the big man was colossal tonight
ForeverBlue92 309
He was absolutely brilliant tonight, I think people are more concerned about his little lapses in concentration and giving the ball away poorly at times as opposed to his defensive capabilities. Essandoh 21,208
Helander and Goldson look to have gelled brilliantly. Our best pairing, sorry Niko.
BookWorm 4,123
He is the only constant in the cb 4 and gets the most stick. Been a part of so many clean sheets and is a quality defender. It is as well SG rates him so highly.
Supersonic 4,654
It's just sadly with his position, any mistake he does make is usually going to be very, very costly so they tend to stick out much more. Tonight he was solid as fuck.
BradBear 45
Him and Helander were fantastic together, both as solid as a rock.
SuperLeeMcCulloch 2,330
Been a big critic of his all season, even as recently as Sunday I thought he had a howler but he was an absolute rock tonight, seemed every high ball into our box he was there to meet it. As it stands currently our back 4 is set, there is absolutely no reason to change it other than injuries or suspensions IMO.
