If he was on a par with Messi or Ronaldo and was actually legible to play for Scotland, I would have more chance of walking to Mars than him being selected.

No you're right, but that's because a loophole that has since been eradicated. None of the other associations objected and the Fifa regulations at the time only referred to  countries and teams representative of that country - so obviously in the UK case, any of the 4 would have sufficed as representatives of UK nationality. Taylor qualified because he was a British citizen through an English father and he chose to play for NI, who are as much a UK representative as England. They amended that later so that the ancestry clauses applied to 'territories' - e.g. home nations - instead. Taylor wouldn't quality for NI under today's rules.

Think he is the only player who seemed to slip under the radar per se.

Yeah Tavernier could never play for Scotland unless we were independent of course 😱

John Barnes could have played for any of the four home nations iirc.

Even if he was eligible, he can't even lead us to victory, what fucking chance Scotland?

Maybe feel more comfortable playing for Scotland as most of the players are English.  Think that's why our players don't get a game. Cunts can't understand their accents.
