  1. Something is weird anyway. Barisic was brilliant against us and his debut made him look a real step up in class. Since then though he has been pretty ordinary and now injured. Katic looked assured and formed a good partnership with Goldson. Now Worrall has the jersey and it’s not immediately obvious why. Grezda is a bit less weird. He was injured and out for long periods and we have Kent, Candeias and Middleton ahead of him. It may all be about settling in to a new country and new club but I preferred Katic and Barisic to Worrall and Flanagan and You have to hope that the manager doesn’t play favourites.
  2. There is no scenario I can envisage where losing 14 million in a single financial year can be anything other than disastrous. Don’t care that we spent on the stadium or whatever Other “one offs” we spunked the money on. I think a Chairman so keen on making statements needs to come out and explain why we shouldn’t be worried about this.
  3. Gerrard is learning. He is learning that Rangers are everyone’s cup final. He is learning that having players with ability is not enough in Scotland you need players with balls. However he also seems to be getting more conservative as he learns. That’s not good. Earlier in the season we were being much braver on the ball. We were playing with a higher tempo. Zipping the ball about and making space and pulling the opposition about. Now, either we are losing confidence in that approach and becoming more cautious in the build up or teams have just learned to stick to their structure and let us play our pretty patterns safe in the knowledge that we don’t have the quality to create something special. Maybe both. Point is we were experimenting more earlier on. Now we seem to be in a warburton-esque: “do plan A better” mindset. Gerrard needs to start working on different tactical approaches and deploying them according to the opposition and being able to change them mid game as needed.
  4. 14 million loss in a financial year is fucking mental. That’s before Gerrard and all his signings. I hope the European run has made us some serious cash
  5. Not one for getting too involved with the finances. But fuck me. 14 million pound loss for the year up to June. That sounds fucking worrying.
  6. It’s either a fuck up or it’s no. The result today won’t determine that. And by the way. It’s a fuck up. We should have had an option 3 wether that was Rudden or Hardie or whether it was another signing for back up. Anyway, my shout would be Candeias Kent and Middleton as the front 3
  7. Let the fuckers talk us down. I am quite happy for them to be dismissive of us and portray us as shite as we rack up the wins and grind out results. I don’t want anyone shouting from the rooftops about how much better we are getting and how much progress we are making until we are top of the league after the last ball is kicked. Then they can talk us down for next year too.
  8. Great video. Gave me chills. We are back where we belong when the name is carved in the trophy of the top league. This season or next. That’s when the journey is complete.
  9. Jacobite firm? What the actual fuck. Have you just made that up. Surely to fuck no one has ever used that term before.
  10. Steven Gerrard is fucking brilliant. I always knew he was a very good player but I never realised what a great man he is as well Its no wonder the Liverpool fans loved him. I hope Klopp stays there for a good few seasons because the longer we hold on to Gerrard the better
  11. Views and politics should not be defined by what team you support. Unfortunately, our current mob of politicians bring football into politics. If you don’t see that then you haven’t read this thread or the FOI documents. Politicians tried to kill our club. Politicians refuse to acknowledge that pitch invasions and attacks against our fans require intervention, politicians are trying to implement laws that disproportionately target our supporters and politicians deliberately block money making plans for us while sell government land off market to our rivals My football team doesn’t define my politics but my football team does make me consider anyone but SNP
  12. My memory is shot. Years of getting blackout drunk have taken their toll. I think the first game I ever attended was in my late teens and it May even have been in the away end of an Aberdeen cup game at Hampden when Salenko scored?? Think we lost? shite being in the away end, I was in the away end for another cup game against hearts. At the piggery. We won that one 4-3 after Gazza got a bollocking off McCoist and took a shot of whisky at half time ???
  13. Compare and contrast with David Edgar. He is producing absolute tonnes of quality content and asking for a couple of quid a month. With something like 5000 subscribers he is coining it in but in return for a shit load of hard work. He’s still no getting my pound 50 though.
  14. I can rarely bring myself to be critical of people who try such a ludicrous money making venture. If some daft cunts are willing to send him money for photos of newspapers then more power to his elbow. Fools and money are soon parted. He seems to have cottoned on to this. It’s not even like he is trying to hoodwink anyone he is brazenly asking for donations to take photos of his papers. If folk choose to do so then he is a genius
  15. Honestly I am just embarrassed by how backward our country is. Between the fanzone thing. This Gazza fiasco and that recent debacle on prominent chairmen calling for no help to Rangers. The whole fucking game is shamed. for the life of me I can’t understand how they continue to get away with it. Abject apathy I guess
  16. There is an awful lot that comes down to luck and timing in football and I think Docherty has had bad luck in that he was shipped out on loan at a time when others have stayed and made an impression. Example. If he had stayed and Halliday had gone out on loan would Docherty be getting the recognition Halliday now is? As someone said earlier, if Halliday can be turned into the player he is at the moment then I am sure Docherty could have improved too but it probably won’t work out now and I think he will be away at the end of his loan. He is just not going to come back in and dislodge our current midfield options.
  17. Aye. The three mentioned are quality. I just wish they were ours.
  18. This irks me. I just can’t get comfortable with this loan system. Call me old fashioned but I prefer owning our players. That’s the three you mention and Worrall that are looking like mainstays of Gerrard’s team. Leaves us pretty exposed when season ends and they go back to their parent clubs. I get that we benefit this season but I would rather Katic, Jack, Grezda, and Middleton were mainstays come season end, established for the forthcoming 6 in a row.
  19. Didn’t want McGregor back, didn’t want Lafferty back ..... still don’t want Naismith back. Or Steven Davis as he is another one that always blips up The first two are back and McGregor in particular is redeeming himself with his infield contribution and then some. Lafferty, let’s see, but he is definitely doing his best to make amends. Ultimately if the decision is made to bring any of them back and they then do the business on the park, then there is fuck all else to do but support the team I will never forgive any of them for the way they left but at the same time all that matters now is winning 55 and if they contribute to that then we will all be celebrating. That being said, I think we can do better than Naismith even ignoring his behaviour
  20. Precisely why this is a non-story. He basically is saying all players have a price but we are no longer the bargain basement.
  21. It’s not even in the top ten of nonsensical stuff he has said
