  1. Not Only does he get it but also .... he's got it. Steven Gerrard has got the stuff to be a top class manager. He has turned this team around like we wanted Caixinha to do but he never had an ounce of what it takes. He has turned us around far better than Warburton did in the Championship but he couldn't sustain it and he was found out at the top league. Gerrard will go very far, I just hope we hold on to him for as long as possible before he does a Souness and goes back to his spiritual home of Liverpool
  2. Fucking great save.... I am on record saying i didn't want him back, I was wrong, I still wish he hadn't left the way he did but by fuck i am glad he is back. Night and day from what we have had between the sticks the last 6 years
  3. No Surrender Andy Halliday. Most folk would have chucked it but he has never given up his dream of playing in the colours...
  4. Fuck it. I love him again. Give me the likes ya cunts
  5. I think he is going to want this formation as part of his arsenal. He wants to be able to play it, people have been saying that since he was revealed as manager. He will play different formations depending on the opposition and I think he sees 3-5-2 as a way to deal with players with a lot of ariel ability. We have been crying out for a manager that can change games and mix up tactics, so we need to expect that while he learns his trade their will be aberrations like today
  6. I think the point of today was to get prepared. He wants to have the ability to play 3-5-2. Only since getting Barisic and Lafferty has he had the players for it so he hasn’t tried it in friendlies. He has decided to try it against the cloggers of the league and he would have got away with it too if he had just recognised that the best way to close out the game from a winning position was to revert to 4-3-3. Kent on for Barisic and back to 4-3-3. Maybe Candeias on for Lafferty too
  7. Don’t think that makes you a pessimist then
  8. You’re pessimistic. I think we will go through to Europe and as long as we ditch the 3-5-2 for now we should nick a point at the piggery
  9. Don’t see what is wrong with what he has said. You’ve basically said the same. Gerrard got it wrong today. I think he will acknowledge that and I think he will learn from it. But yet doesn’t change the fact that he fucked it
  10. Gaffer is to blame for sure. In my opinion, as I said in the match thread, he was trying out the formation. That’s all well and good. But when it was clear we were struggling defensively he should have reverted to a more comfortable 4-3-3. Why is Tav defending corners against center halves? The subs were wrong Middleton shouldn’t have come on. Kent is more capable and tactically aware . Wallace was nothing but a time waster and should have waited til after the corner poor management but I believe he will learn. McAllister should be advising too
  11. Thing is its not just the 60 minutes for us. He was clearly different gravy against us as well. Easily their best player in a pretty decent team over both legs. The 60 minutes for us, I though he just looked a class apart. Debut in a rocking Ibrox, could easily have been caught up by nerves but was totally comfortable and looked like he had been here for years. Of course lets see how it goes over the next few games but he just looked the part. Sometimes you look at a player and you can see they are shite, sometimes you see a player and think he has potential and could work out well with games... rarely you see a player and think "different class" . The general consensus is that we have one of those rare occurrences
  12. Pretty sure that’s not a word
  13. While I can more or less agree to your position. I still think we need to be more clever. Take 2008 as an example. They deliberately and unashamedly sabotaged our league campaign. While we are able to get on without them 99 times out of 100. There will always be occasions where we need some sort of decent treatment. Zenit got nearly 3 weeks preperation for the UEFA cup final because their FA and their fellow clubs wanted them to win. Compare and contrast with us who had to play 3 games in 5 days or some shit. The trick is to have unity in the SFA and SPFL with us as the alpha male of the pack.
  14. At some point Scottish football is simply going to have to bury the hatchet. It’s essential if we are ever going to grow again. Otherwise we will be a welsh league or Irish league standard eventually. For it to happen a lot of people are going to have to move on. Mostly from celtic and SPFL and SFA. But also from Hibs and if we are being honest we probably need to see the back of King as well. So we are looking at at least 7-10 years. There is a poison that was injected into our game about 12 years ago and we still haven’t cleansed it. Liewell needs gone as does the celtic board. We need a strong celtic but we don’t need a poisonous celtic First thing that needs to happen is we need to win the league and get into CL. That will be step one in sorting this clusterfuck out. We can then tell the rest of the clubs that they need to up their game and sort themselves out ?
  15. Unfortunately that’s what contracts are for. We either keep them or pay them off. May as well keep them
  16. I have watched it over and over. And I cannot see a closed fist. His left hand moves into him but it doesn’t look like it’s with any force. My eyes must be failing me. I don’t know how to get it off Rangerstv into a clip. I also can’t slow it down on RTV. If it’s a punch it’s a fucking fast jab
  17. I think the apathy is purely down to watching it 3 or 4 times and not being able to determine if it was a punch or not. Didnt look like it to me but others seem to think they saw it. I will rewatch it when I am on WiFi later. Katic nor the club have made much of it. So if we didn’t see it in real time how can we get enraged about it. I will share a clip later if I can
  18. Same. Didn’t look like a punch to me. But the angles weren’t great. There was a bit of contact but there was nowhere near enough momentum or movement to be as sore as Katic made out. Looked like Katic was running the clock down a bit.
  19. I refused to read it yesterday. Read the first couple of paragraphs today and gave up. He seemed to take issue with seasons. Like more than one season. His interpretation of seasons appears to be back to the 80s. Wouldn’t seasons just be two or more? And wouldn’t Steven Gerrard actually watch football games in Scotland in the last 5 or 6 years. How can you formulate an entire article based on the definition of seasons and the assumption that Stevie G would have to watch recordings of those. the unfair refereeing practices trace back to john Reid and have got worse year on year due to unconscious bias So In summary. pish article
  20. Reasonable booking for a mistimed challenge. Made another challenge that the dodgy ref could have seen as a booking and I think with Tav on the bench it was a decent move to replace him. Anyone with a yellow that was heavily involved in the play was at risk of a second booking
  21. Aye I wanted him gone too. Thought he was a huffy wee prick. But somethings turned him around. On reflection he must have wondered what the fuck was going on, the manager who signed him sacked. Some wee fanny under 20s coach near greeting in after match interviews and folk fighting in the dressing room all while he can barely speak a word of English. Maybe with a real football man in charge and a settled dressing room he is back to his old self. Long may it continue.
  22. Will never understand paying a player off unless he is a disruptive influence. Cardoso always seemed professional and worked hard. Why not keep him for cover rather than paying him off
