  1. Mate as much as it sticks in the craw the reality is they have more money than us. They can be more aggressive with their demands. They can afford to turn down 2 mill for a player. Until we are back winning leagues and earning Champs league money we won’t be able to demand Fees like we did with the likes of Alan Hutton or Boumsong
  2. A transfer fee? I don’t think anyone on here would argue with a free transfer to get him off the wage bill.
  3. A player that’s really improving. His command of his area is improving and his shotstoppping has always been good. His distribution is less bombscare than it used to be think he is only going to get better. Who is our goalkeeper coach now?
  4. No offence taken. And none intended either. But the reality is who would we replace Tav with? Who could we afford that would be better than him and willing to join us. I know it’s not your job to identify decent right backs for Rangers but the point remains we are fishing in a very small pond of talent and the bait we are using is significantly smaller than the bait being used in England. I would take anything in the region of 2 million for him, wouldn’t sell him for much less. We paid 200k for him and I would say he has seen his stock rise by playing for us even if he hasn’t dramatically improved. Similar to Van Dijk it’s not about the ability as much as about who the selling club is If he goes then we will struggle to replace him with better for less than 2 million. As others have said we will probably be left with Hodson.
  5. But your first point explains the second. These threads never fail to amaze me. Tav is as good a right back as we can expect at this point. Any better and he would be snapped up. Plus the valuations that are put on players are always mental. The value of a player is determined by how much a club are willing to pay and because of our circumstances we are not in a position to demand more. Look at Van Dick from the scum. They sold him not so long ago for a decent fee but a year or so later he goes for 75 million. He hasn’t improved that much since leaving the scum but the selling club were far stronger and in a stronger league. If Tav played in the English championship he would be valued at 2 or 3 times more than he will ever be valued at while he is our player. That’s just the reality we have to deal with. I for one hope we keep him
  6. We absolutely mugged Hibs last night. Murty knows it, the players know it and everyone in here knows it. I don’t believe it tells us anything about Murty’s managerial candidacy. We were woeful. Especially first half. Sloppy in possession, Lost our shape time after time, our fullbacks were getting roasted, our midfield was completely lacking any composure, first half was awful with several players looking amateur. Alves for the first goal was so slow and ponderous it’s hard to believe. Of course all of that made the win all the more enjoyable. Murty has been given until the end of the year, if the results are good over that extended period then maybe he should get longer. But I really don’t think he is the right guy for the job long term and nothing from last nights game would change my view on that.
  7. An ex-player and doubtless shorter than he was when he played.
  8. Jordan Thompson?... never mind, apparently still on loan at Raith Rovers Kranjcar... no laughing at the back
  9. Anyone who believes it’s a level playing field at the moment is bonkers. We are definitely getting the shitty end of the stick. But there is nothing to do about it except fucking win. The scum have taken over as the establishment club and the whole of the game is now heavily weighted in their favour
  10. You know I think it’s the Jock Wallace era guys that think all you need is an indomitable winning mindset and you can will a team into being champions. Not only is that not correct, it is also somewhat disrespectful to the abilities of Jock Wallace. Barry Ferguson was a great player, a true winner and is obviously died in the wool bluenose. But he was also a moaning bastard. He berated his team mates instead of encouraging them. He created cliques in the dressing room, he comes from an era of less professionalism, he loves a good leak to the press and he has on occasion let himself and the club down by thinking he is bigger than the badge There is a very fine line to be found between driving players to a better performance and shrinking them into their shells. And frankly in this day and age where most footballers are millennials, that line is far harder to stay on the right side of as millenials are such snowflakes. I have less of an issue with BF than some but I don’t see him as a great addition to the coaching staff. I would much prefer Murty and JJ were developed. Having said all that, I would also prefer BF than Docherty. That would be a fucking travesty.
  11. Has done admirably whenever called upon but lacks stature and doesn’t have the gravitas to be full time manager. frankly I think he is just TOO nice
  12. We had steel for once. Thibknit was McCrorie as the sitting midfielder just seemed to give us more balance and more fight. Didnt think there was too many outstanding performances but it just worked as a collective.
  13. Bakbear

    Hope

this taking our place as the most successful club in the world has been their goal for some time. It’s why they wanted the whole “strip the titles” thing. A hamstrung Rangers has been and remains a deliberate effort. That we play right into their hands with our completely incompetent board only goes to add to our frustration and their delight. Hope? Fuck me. If that was all we had to cling on to, most of us would have chucked it by now. What keeps us going is tradition and culture. Those things will die out if we continue on this path.
  14. Can’t help feeling that the board are looking at the cheapest option. McLaren suggested in the commentary today that Murty will get til the end of the season until the managerial target is available. Heaven fucking help us
  15. I genuinely don’t understand how we can be so bad. We have the 2nd highest budget in Scotland and we have played under 3 different managers in this league. We have signed players that, on paper at least, should be better than the likes of Hamilton and Partick. You hear an awful lot of talk from players and coaches which suggest they know the expectations on them but then you get performances like today which are just absolute fucking amateur. That today was fucking brutal. Worse than some of the games we saw in the lower leagues. Something is rotten at the club and you can’t help but look to the regime
  16. As an overseas fan I watch every game with Tom Miller and his patter is brutal. It wouldn’t be bad if it was only once in a while but it’s the same cliches every game. I cannae listen in silence but it’s tempting. Seems like a great guy though. Just needs to make way for a better commentator
  17. Lived in Baku there for a few years, hence Bakbear. Went to a few games. Why do you ask?
  18. Don’t care what anyone says there is something not right about Halliday in Azerbaijan. Why is he being left on the bench? He is not very good but no way is he that bad.
  19. Winning every trophy in Scotland. Being appreciated for the blue pound. Being welcomed by opposition club directors. Demonstrating to the whole world what we already know. Rangers are Scottish football. On the actual field? Fuck all.
  20. McLeod is the obvious one. Though he went the same way as Jamie Ness who I also thought looked good. Before that as others have said Danny Wilson and frankly with all these comparisons we need to realise how hard it is to develop from promising youngster to club legend. It is a very rare journey. McCrorie has massive potential and hasn’t looked out of place at all. Tie him up on a long deal and let’s hope he develops that potential
  21. We are a bunch of fannies on the internet. We don’t need to be held to a higher standard of journalism. This “report”? Story? Whatever the fuck it is , is just speculation and hearsay. It makes some pretty big leaps and makes some allegations that are bordering on libel. If it came with some quotes from inside informants that were verified then it would be a different thing but as it stands it is not much more than a blog by any one of us Ryan Jack deliberately got himself sent off because he supported an ageing player he has never played with over a manager that signed him and played him every game. Fucking behave.
