Couldn't give a fuck where we finish tbh.
More important is a new manager short term and a new board long term.
All a new manager can do under this board is bridge the gap, this board don't have the financial power needed nor the capability to make enough sensible decisions to fully bridge the gap between us and them.
Until a new board are found (which I don't really see happening for years yet) the best we can hope for is second best. Which for a support such ours is absolutely heartbreaking to accept.
It makes absolutely no sense.
They should have had the list compiled and feelers sent out to their preferred candidates.
How many times does it happen when a team sacks a manager and a new manager is appointed within the week? It doesn't just happen overnight, I would suggest conversations would have been had long before they sacked their current manager. It's what efficient boards do. Ours stuck in the dark ages.
Shambles.
It's getting to the point where I am genuinely contemplating whether or not we'll ever get back to where we once were.
I don't believe we'll ever bridge this gap.
These friendlies should be used along with keeping the fitness ticking over, playing against better opposition to test ourselves, but also to try new players, new formations and ideas.
Without a new manager that would be pointless.
That has to our priority right now, securing the new man at the helm.
Sooner the better.
But far too many supporters in the pockets of this board and it won't happen until we hit absolutely rock bottom or the financial troubles haunt us again.
In comparison to other clubs we have 'burst the bank' in the summer but it was left to an under qualified nobody of a manager to spend the money.
A couple players are not bad but on the whole the money spent should see us comfortably in 2nd.
However we're arguably only the 4th best team in the land.
Worry now, especially with our financial figures showing a loss can we give our new manager the same spending money as Caixinha, will he get it right?
Will our new manager be shoestrung and be against the ropes from the get go? Probably.
There's an abundance of talent there and if he gets the right management he can be a real star but it wasn't happening for him with us.
Should never have been let go for as much as we let him go for mind.
In Scottish football yes.
Absolutely miles ahead of anyone.
Team that can bring Dembele off the bench when already 2-0 up and cruising then not many can compete with that.
