The loanees were both good I thought, Ross County showed a fantastic will to win which we never really matched and that was the difference. We need a captain or leader on the park, Wallace is a great guy and Rangers man but not captain material. We also need a manager who can instill the work ethic and will to win that Ross County showed today. Unfortunately MW has shown that he cannot motivate players to show the same commitment that our opponents showed today. In other words guys that probably earn a fraction of what our players are paid almost beat us today.

Warburton can't manage a Club of the stature and tradition of Rangers.    I know he is the manager but he's not managing properly or effectively is he.   He's presiding over a descent to less than mediocrity and paying top dollar for players to do it (and being paid handsomely enough himself).
It's beyond him to take Rangers anywhere other than being an also-ran for many seasons to come.   He has no notion whatsoever of what it will take to galvanise a Rangers side to play for the shirt and to play with Rangers pride.   He is, imo, a pretender of a manager and is at best an analyst and a behind the scenes organiser.  No more than that.

na i think we tend to focus on the negatives. It was a good performance, with one terrible mistake which he made cause we were coasting. Apart from that, its all good.

Friday night game, away on astro against a team who are never going to come out and play - thats a good 3 points.

Plus we could rest Hill and Miller and save their legs on hard astro - many many positives - one negative

A team of hammer throwers and a hostile atmosphere.
The type of environment that Rangers teams of the past would flourish in, let's see if the current lot have what it takes.

I'm surprised that folk are surprised that a midfield containing Halliday and Holt are getting bullied..
it happened against Hibs and Falkirk virtually everytime we played them last season.
The signings we made strengthened the squad, how many actually strengthened our team?

Warburton isn't to blame for that result. People just looking to make him the scapegoat.
Strikers seriously lacked composure in front of goal again and baws need booted for it. Warburton can't be to blame if they can't put the ball in the net. If we had put our chances away the game could've been out of sight by half time.
To lose to a shower of shite like that today is laughable!

I've never seen a team have so much possession and do so little with it. Possession doesn't win you games. Creating chances, taking chances and defending properly does, and we didn't do any of those today, and haven't done all season.

    Until the manager starts proving us wrong there is an air of Le Guen about this and before anyone harpoons me allow me to make the case;
After the first 2 months of last season, we played possession football in a manner that allowed teams to get back and defend as a back 10, as the season went on we struggled to even create chances never mind scoring. We were more direct today but generally you can say with certainty that this is a year long issue/trait. For all we raved about last season we achieved fewer points than Hearts, only finished 10 points ahead of 2nd and the Cup final and last 10-12 games of the season would have had a manager strung up in a normal year. Plan 'A' is attack a team to death leaving us open to the counter attack and putting a lot of pressure on our threadbare defense, the possession we have does not equate to goals and in turn Plan 'A' isn't fully functioning AND there appears to be no alternative/correction to it by the manager. Manager has not criticised financial backing from the board but never have we claimed to be challenging for a title with so little - I understand why money is tight but I never made the promise nor inferred that we're going for it. You can say he's happy, complicit, naive or whatever but 'value' doesn't need to mean free's from the Championship relegation zone it can mean someone at £1M who's a better defender than everyone at the club and who has a sell on value or potential to get even better (what we've got for the money is FANTASTIC and I see how it all could come together etc. etc. BUT we are lacking some genuine class/quality you can just rely on regardless of the weather/performance and that is an issue particularly in Defense.)  The manager said that getting our new players in early would make all the difference to starting the season as we'd be more prepared, sharp, fit etc. etc.; I'm calling bullshit on this one, take the blinkers off with regards to our wins against League 1 and below, we've been huffing out our arse in multiple positions and key players. Hamilton was used as a pre-season game and the proof of that is the players who failed to perform prior all started while the players we eventually brought on as subs were clearly sharp/fit/ready/better. Comments after the Hamilton game were deceitful (imo), bizarre and failing to acknowledge/recognise the truth. Today was again extended to Miller as a fitness/sharpness exercise - he could have wrapped up the game in the first half 2-3 times and I knew the fact that he didn't would make it hard for us in the second half ( I don't write him off like some on here as I know he'll be an asset BUT he's not meriting a starting place and it's playing with fire when we make it difficult for ourselves going forward already. Forrester should have been subbed and had he been sent off we were in trouble. When you combine it all there is a POSSIBLE naivety that some 'C' rate English players will stroll it up here, that we'll win with a 50% team/performance etc, that 'Plan A' will work, that no investment is needed to challenge - it's all just combining to possibly smack of that arrogance/naivety Le Guen had when he put Svensson at CB, struggled every week against the bread and butter, stuck to his style when it wasn't working.
Despite all these accumulated thoughts I don't think much needs to happen in order to see 3rd and 4th gears in our team and a strength that puts fear into teams, it's just concerning that we are sailing so close to the wind and appear entirely unconcerned without evidence to suggest that confidence is well founded.
I should add for fairness that perhaps Crooks, Windass, Waghorn are all key and there will be another couple in this regard (new signings yet to be made) - it's easy then to see why we could look disjointed/lacking but I do feel we have more than enough to have savaged Hamilton and Dundee and we have not.

Thought Barton played well, was spraying passes all over the park and chasing the ball when he lost it. Thought Kranjcar was very poor, trying to dribble past their whole midfield and losing the ball. The game changed on the 60th when MOH & HF came on. MOH looked sharp when coming on and should have started IMO. Would like to see Rossiter and Barton in midfield with Forrester/ Holt above them. We need more energy in midfield

Having Rossiter in your midfield will do that, won't let them have it, will make sure you have a stable base in the midfield so you don't give it away.
He's not even quick, just knows exactly when to press, knows when his opponent will struggle to settle on the ball, reads the game well.
As a Liverpool fan I watched his debut tonight, was basically what I expected, glad to see he looks fit, gutted that he's not fit and in a red shirt.

The outcome of this match is entirely irrelevant to our team and our prospects for next season.  Fate seems to have been conspiring against us recently with two of our most potent first choices now out injured and with another two cup tied we're missing more than a third of the team.
Add to that the fact that we all know the manager has already targeted a clutch of new recruits for next season who we can expect will strengthen the team if they can't beat us now at this severely weakened moment it's start filling your pants time for them as far as next season goes.
I fully expect we will hand out some real thrashings next season just as we did this season and the Dundee match was a fine indicator of that.  A team they couldn't put a goal past in 180 minutes we walked all over and took 4 from.  No matter what happens this weekend it's been a better season than any of us expected at the outset and delivered basically everything we realistically hoped for.
I for one would have grasped with both hands the prospect of a challenge cup win to complete our trophy list plus runaway champions in the league.  The future is bright no matter what happens and if things took a turn against us this weekend naturally we will all be disappointed but it's a mere blip on the landscape in terms of the bigger picture.

Nearly 6pm and not statements / interviews on the Rangers website.  Are they all still in the dressing room being raged at?  Who rages at MWI wonder?   The website has gallery photos from the game.  Interesting they can be posted before any words from MW or DW about what was a shocking - yes shocking - result.  And coming on top of just scraping through in recent games.
The team is off the boil.   Sure there is a lot of froth in making chances.  Sure there is a lot of possession.  Sure there are a lot of corners (mostly shite btw - no clue whatsoever about how to convert corner kick pressure into goals).   Sure there are lots of crosses and pretty intricate passing movements.  But there sure is a glaring lack of finishing.  And glaring bad defensive play too.   What now for all the pre-match hype about how good the defence has been.  What now for all the puffed up talk of being in a good place.  What now about not spending (or having the dosh to spend - which was it I really wonder) on physicality and experience to not only win this league but to get off to a good start next season.   A draw against the bottom club.  Only one goal scored and we allowed them to score.  Ended up chasing a game to scramble a draw against the worst team in the league.
No wonder there is silence so far from the Manager.
