Could it be that in order to bring in new faces Gerrard has been told he must offload first, and with time beginning to run out - prospective loans to Doncaster and Breda falling through - we couldn’t afford to be too picky?
It’s not a club I particularly want to see any of our players end up at, but as others have said, it does allow us to gauge his ability in the league we play in.
On the wider question of patience I agree there.
Gerrard really needed to hit the ground running this season otherwise the knives will be out for him, and after that the board will inevitably come under greater scrutiny.

Yes we do need to tighten the PR on this. We should have issued a statement ASAP.

The saddest part in all of this the the highlighting of the fact the club have no credible PR or media strategy. As soon as the game ended we should have been on the front foot to mitigate the attention we all knew that would be coming from all directions. BBC news done a proper job us earlier, and we should have been prepared and had all of this covered before the narrative was set by others painting us in the darkest light possible. 1. Rangers fans, football fans, wanting a national public inquiry that looks into EVERY club and their actions around possible child abuse in football is not whataboutery. It is something a common and decent society should be demanding.
2. As an individual, I do care about the incidents listed. As individuals, I'm sure other Rangers fans do too. However, as a football club and institution, Rangers do not hold court or sway in those matters. Therefore our collective support doesn't either. Us not posting about Rotherham is nothing to do with it being nothing to do with celtic, and everything to do with it being nothing to do with Rangers as a sporting institution. Child abuse in Scottish Football has everything to do with Scottish clubs, fans, parents and wider society. We therefore have every right to condemn and ask that the footballing element is investigated as robustly as other historic child abuse scandals. If that happens to incriminate us, so be it. It's a cancer needing cut out. The cancers need held responsible, and the sufferers compensated.
All decent people would agree. Do you??
