I believe me leaving this thread and not watching the score after they cunts equalised is the reason they lost more points. I'm going to keep doing that.

For anyone who's missed it: 
I sat watching the first few minutes in disbelief. "Why are we doing this?". Actually shook my head at one point and said to myself......"That's Steven Gerrard, he's the Rangers manager......What???". I'll tell you what though, by the end, I wanted another 25 minutes of it. Was lapping up every word. I finally get why this can work. The man's a winner......he's got that steely determination that we need in the hot-seat. He's not some doe-eyed figurehead.....or a bumbling idiot that talks in riddles, or a journeyman who talks a good game (but nothing else). The man is a proper winner at football. A name respected at every corner of the globe. (Yes, maybe I'm finally talking myself into thinking this is a good thing via a post.....sorry!). He's worked under some top managers in the game.....and Brenda. He's someone who knows how (s)he thinks, and plays the game, and how to combat that. More than that though, he's just got that air about him. WINNER. Look at what he's done to thousands of people in one interview. Imagine that air of confidence.....of self-belief getting let loose on the players?

Exactly mate, in a nutshell.
The backroom team will be pronto busy assessing what we've got, who needs to go and where we require strengthening in rapid fashion in order for Mr Gerrard to begin identifying quality replacements.
Its exciting times and I've no doubt this very hungry young manager allied with the backroom team will be successful.

I've been more critical than most about SG as a manager, not on here or any other forum because I really couldn't be arsed reading any of our forums recently, the hype has been ridiculous and the board's history so far makes me sceptical. I didn't think our board had a clue about football but the news tonight of the backroom staff actually gives me some hope.
I've said this is fuck all like the Souness, Lawrence Marlborough, David Holmes era but also recognised Walter Smith as assistant was the main reason we succeeded and is what is needed to make this work. It's a huge risk but it does seem like we're actually bringing in a strong coaching framework.
