The bottom line is if we don't have the funding to match the scum in quality, we forevever remain second at best.

If for a moment you can get away from your being a better second agenda, but too much to ask in your flawed premise.

8 million buys you exactly what we have got. Over valued, Over paid mediocrity. We are Rangers after all. There is a premium we have to pay for our very own mediocrity. Our mediocrity is no better than all the rest in the league, but we just have to pay more for it. That's why we need 8 mil when the rest only need 3 for same.
Then the matter for calling for being a better second, because of this 8 mil we spend. Well that is actually less than we put in for ST money and as I said previously, we would be no worse off spending only 3. If we cannot afford to spend to bring in a step up in quality, it is as futile as it is pointless, but it is our money we are using not king's, so no problem there as king chuckles away in his bunker at us.
Being a better second is as much for losers as it is a red herring.

I've been saying this all last night, but some folk still defend that ridiculous statement. Strikes me as uncaring, cowardly and unprofessional.

King was always out of his depth running a football club, never mind trying to do it from half way round the world but he's a Rangers man so it's ok.

Sadly my first reaction was that the dirty tricks campaign has been on the go over the last couple of weeks with the murmurings from the pet journos has come to fruition. Now the ludicrous scenario which has been so publicly played out in the media over the last 3  hours from the club that keeps on giving the media the ammunition to show us up as a laughing stock.
I would have thought that Warburton is too intelligent and business savvy to lay himself open to what appears to be the official narrative. I also believe David Weir is too honest to be a part  in the fabrication of which he is accused.
Maybe I am thinking too much about the smear campaigns and tricks that the present board were happy to use and support in order to gain power; either way it does nothing to enhance the perception of our great club.
 

Exactly.  For all their faults neither Davie Weir or Mark Warburton have ever struck me as liars, yet tonight many seem willing to accept the word of the scum media or the board who's integrity is imo is more questionable than those 2.
To your point, if that is true then the two of them go on a long list of pricks that have let the club down, I'm not sure though, something doesn't feel right with this whole thing.   Then again when is anything ever straight forward with us.   

No really knows mate, but for someone on warburton's behalf to negotiate a deal have it rejected, then offer a new deal but have the original deal accepted is illegal in my book. Once the second offer is made the original offer is gone.
So did that happen? Was it Warburton's agent that fucked things up? Did our board fuck this up and hastily create a statement to try and bolster their argument if this ever went to court?
It's a weird one.

This is turning out to mirror what I posted earlier.
Warburton was down south talking to another club, not a player or a coach.
After successful talks he asks to have his contract cancelled
Rangers reject that offer
Warburton left without making a second offer
Rangers have a meeting and have another think about it
They agree it might actually work in their favour and should have accepted the offer
They quickly release a statement talking about the offer and it was accepted
Warburton is then asked what's going on
He of course has no idea

That to me is illegal, if an initial offer is rejected, then a secondary offer has to be made in order for it to be legally binding. Sounds like the secondary offer was not made, and the club have fucked this one.

Forest will officially not have made a direct approach, they get in big trouble if stuff like that is found out.
Whether they had a word with agents or just dropped unofficial hints is unknown, but irrelevant to me as that is common in business and especially football.
What I have a huge problem with is the way the board has communicated this news in a totally unprofessional and illiterate manner, and the fact it has been contradicted straight away. Totally symptomatic of our boards ineptitude and lack of professionalism.
The Joey Barton incident was farcical in itself and was a precedent for the way this board behaves. Tonight the board has made themselves look a lot lot more stupid. 

tbh mate I've never known MW to be dishonest to this level in his time here and I've never read anything regarding his career prior to us, even when he worked in the city.

Aboslutely no clue what to make of this. I see a few of the usual suspects floating about drip feeding us shite making sure to include insinuations of "crookedness" from MW. That's got red flags all over it for me.

This is not the way we should doing things. Dave King is making a mockery of our proud Club. Where in the hell is Dave King, where is Traynor? he should be booted too. Why was this declared at this time on a Friday night, it is 40 hours till the Morton match, in the last bit of silverware available. The lack of coordination from our Board, PR department and management, to the amateur statement which gave far too much information on our business practice/dealings is not how Rangers operate.
