There can never be an excuse for a Celtic team losing two consecutive games in our pathetic league.
Who looking at the squad available to the manager pre-match thought that that group of players was bad enough to lose 2-0 at home to a midtable Hearts side managed by a rookie ned?
I've not checked- was that Hearts' first win at Celtic Park since Tony Mowbray was Celtic manager?
Another one of those 'one-offs' that happen so regularly under the most highly paid manager in the club's history.
Only manager to drop points at home to Patrick Thistle this century?
    The 'elite' guy.
The manager who presided over our heaviest defeat in decades at Tynecastle?
    The 'elite' guy.
The reason these 'one-offs' are so concerning is that we start every season under Rodgers at a disadvantage.
No Celtic manager in our entire history has a worse record at Easter Road.
Is that the fault of recruitment/poor wee Brendan being lied to by the board/injury crisis?
Never won a game at Easter Road.
Highest pair manager in our history.
    An 'elite' coach.
No Celtic manager in our entire history has a worse record at Rugby Park.
Is that the fault of recruitment/poor wee Brendan being lied to by the board/injury crises?
4 defeats in 5 away to Kilmarnock, the other game being won with a last minute deflected scramble against 10 men.
Highest paid manager in our history.
    An 'elite' coach.
Rodgers is currently suffering the worst run of home league results against St Johnstone of any Celtic manager this century (probably longer, but I'm not going to depress myself by scouring through the CelticWiki looking at games from 92).
1 win from 4 at home to St Johnstone.
Is that the fault of recruitment/poor wee Brendan being lied to/injury crises?
Highest paid manager in our history.
    An 'elite' coach.
With those struggles detailed above, we start every season knowing that we are pretty much guaranteed not to win 13% of our fixtures.
That puts a hell of a lot of emphasis on the other 87%.
Good thing Rodgers' record in those games is so good, eh?
Since returning to the new built Celtic Park after the horrors of the Hampden season, Celtic's very worst year in terms of home league form was 2017-18.
In 2017-18, the highest paid manager in Celtic's history Brendan Rodgers took a Celtic side which then had the highest wagebill in Celtic's history and served up from 19 home league games 11 wins, 7 draws, and 1 defeat.
We failed to score in 5 of the games, and only managed 1 in several others.
Managing at best 1 goal in C50% of home league games, despite having at his disposal Armstrong, Rogic, Forrest, Roberts, Sinclair, Dembele, Griffiths, Édouard.
Go back and read the post matchthreads.
They're all the same as now; all that's changed are the players' names.
'Dembele/Griffiths/Édouard/Kyogo/Oh really needs to be taking that chance.'
There's this weird acceptance when Rodgers is manager that a Celtic centre forward will only get one chance per game, and by God he'd better take it!
So 2017-18 is the worst season for home form since 95.
    Not the Barnes/Dalglish debacle.
    Not the Mowbray malaise.
    Not the COVID nightmare.
The second year we were managed by the 'elite' manager earning more than any other Celtic manager ever.
This season we're on course to match that worst ever season for home form.
A massive coincidence that it's the same manager in change again, I'm sure.
Now, those who still have faith that Rodgers can turn this around will point to the Invincible season.
    It was a fantastic achievement.
He started his Celtic career by going 55 league games unbeaten.
A genuinely wonderful time to be a Celtic fan.
Now let's look at his last 58 league games as Celtic manager.
    He's won 39, drawn 10, and lost 9.
    Those are absolutely horrific results.
    Truly desperate stuff.
And this is why I'm not buying any excuses about the board, or recruitment, or injuries.
I think we would all agree that the board have been in situ for far, far, far too long.
The only upside of their having been around forever is that all managers have worked under exactly the same people.
Everyone has endured the same conditions.
So why have Celtic's league results been so much worse for such a long period under Rodgers?
Why outside of the Invincible season do his league results compare unfavourably to all other successful Celtic managers this century?
Do you want to know how far back you have to go to find a Celtic manager producing such terrible league results over a spell of 58 games?
    Liam Brady.
Everyone since then who came close to that form got hunted long before he got to game 58, and rightly so.
If Neil Lennon was presiding over this season, and had a recent record as detailed above, not one person on here would be saying he just needs backed in January.
If Ronny Deila was presiding over this season, and had a recent record as detailed above, not one person on here would be saying he just needs backed in January.
If Gordon Strachan was presiding over this season, and had a recent record as detailed above, not one person on here would be saying he just needs backed in January.
As I said after the defeat at Rugby Park last weekend, you can choose to believe that Rodgers is the unluckiest manager in our recent history with injuries.
You can choose to believe that he is uniquely hamstrung by the machinations of the board.
I think what we have is a manager who has been rumbled by every other coach in Scotland, and regardless of how much money we chuck at it in January there's no righting this ship and saving what's left of his managerial reputation.
We'll be sacking him in the summer anyway, so we'd be as well doing it now.
    🤣🤣🤣 he ain’t 😃

You can’t call someone another waste of money when they are injured like this. It makes no sense in the context. I get that you are annoyed but he cannot be categorized with the likes of Lammers and Dessers.

He's played 1,600 minutes this season which is 18 games over 4 months. That's really not a lot of football.
He also just had 2 weeks off for the international break. I really don't think overplaying him can be used as an excuse.

Some of his booking have been ridiculous decisions, some of the pish spoken in the media has been ridiculous, Tarriers setting the narrative, boys got a bit of fire in his belly takes no shit from anybody on the park and we’ve got gimps on here greeting about him because he’s been involved in a couple incidents that he’s been yellow carded. He’s been targeted for the Morelos treatment by media, refs and some of our own.
He’s just back from injury being phased back into the team and yet to hit form. Think we’ll see the better version of him after this break. Honestly cunts slating him at every opportunity need to take a hard long look at themself and the trap they’ve fell into.
