Bearsden bear got a reaction from Blumhoilann in Statement regarding disciplinary procedure
What seems to be happening here is a poor man's VAR which tries to correct all the refs decisions 2 days after our game has finished!
For example all being equal, If the CO was operating VAR vs sheep McGregor would be given a red, the sheep a pen and we end up losing that game!! However I think we all know the ref seen it and its the type of challenge /motion that goalies make up and down the country without anyone raising an eyebrow.
The SFA should stick to clear and obvious 'off the ball' incidents only. That's the problem with this type of thing. It starts as one thing and evolves into something else. It's another reason VAR scares me.

It is trial by TV now and we will be more scrutinised than others teams. Pundits like Stewart, Sutton etc will see to that.
The system itself is a joke. No confirmation who's reviewing incidents and no information how they have come to the decisions made.
It's all cloak and daggers when it needs to be wide open. A detailed explanation how similar challenges are coming up with different results each time would be good.

Bearsden bear got a reaction from BridgeIsBlue in Statement regarding disciplinary procedure
Its clear to me that Greegs and Alfredo are only now paying for earlier indiscretions.
After the old firm game the knives were out and Alfredo was always gonna cop it first opportunity. McGregor has had a few iffy moments and escaped, again this time it was payback.
Point is these incidents are obviously not looked at in isolation with clear eyes. Previous perceived issues and media noise are influencing the decisions. Just not sure how we can best change this to get a fair crack of the whip?

There are some wild inconsistencies in how teams are disciplined. They do need to take either the hardest line possible when referees are being criticised or do nothing. Picking and choosing when to fine clubs does make it look like there's an agenda.

Can't remember really
I just have some memory of thinking McCrorie made a clumsy challenge and couldn't really argue with the sending off.

Bearsden bear got a reaction from Malkster in Compliance Officer Role
From what I understand the reason it was introduced was to capture any off the ball incidents that the ref would usually not see if keeping up with play.
Seems somewhere along it has lost its purpose and is starting to resemble something more sinister.

We were mucking about last week on the winter league and I anctualky preferred it in. I think that everyone should be keeping it in for long putts to speed up the game.

They need to abolish it. The conversations each week are now about the compliance officer rather than the football itself. Let’s just get back to basics. The game is better when it’s kept simpler.

Maybe cos he thinks all players should be subject to the same scrutiny and punishment as ours.
Just shows walker is too blinkered to look at the bigger picture and is looking to only call out cheats when it's advantageous to do so (or not)!!

Sounds really promising, particularly in that he cost peanuts and is still quite a young guy.
I like McCann and value his opinion so could be an excellent signing.

Regarding your point ive underlined there, there are a large number of fans don't read forums. We are quite an engaged and mobilised part of the fanbase. There are still quite a large number of fans who still get their football spoonfed to them through a paper.
This type of article can reach those people, and that's surely a good thing. Also good there's a balanced report out there. We all moan there aren't enough of those!

We need something like this with clear rules and restrictions. The current airy/fairy random pish seems only to favour one club.
