If they brought in a 20 year old attacking midfielder on loan, he scored 10 league goals, won young player of the year, got in the team of the year, and then they didn’t sign him for £5 million we’d be calling them mental. We’re holding a kid to ridiculously high standards and expecting him to single handedly win games against our biggest rivals when surrounded by underachievers

It should have been though. The main reason it isn’t is because we were fucking terribly run for about 15 of those 20 years.
If we were looking for quality, difference makers and we want to keep coming ahead and a club that’s probably the level and value we need to be signing players at on a regular basis.
Will they all be successful? Nope. Can we get bargains for less money than that? Of course we can, but 5 million signings for players who are expected to come in and be big players for us, before we turn a profit on them, shouldn’t be considered as big of a deal as it is by some people.
celtic, who are our closest rivals, and who let’s be honest have basically wiped the floor with us for years now have gone above 5 million a few times in recent years, and signed loads more players (some good some shit) for 4.5 too.

Garbage but not an issue so you’d keep as an option.

Dropping big name, senior players is fine in theory but it’s a weird thought process that people on here have had for years now and I don’t understand it at all. As soon as we go on a bad run it’s drop players, play the kids (who aren’t exactly ripping up any trees either) and give the squad players a chance but in reality our squad players aren’t going to come in and miraculously make us better. If they would then they would already be playing.

We dropped 12 points this season under Gio.

That's literally the only reason we have the split, so that the SPFL can get those extra old firms and appease Sky.
I say fuck them, Sky doesn't care for nor wish to pay decent money for showing this league, so why should the league be suited to them.

I don’t think I’ve ever paid any attention to the points total of team in 7th and compared it to the 6th or 5th team.
I don’t really have a massive problem with the split, although I think we should have a 14 team top league, that splits at half way with a top 6 and bottom 8. Then play each other twice - top 6 teams would have 36 matches, bottom 8 would have 40. Reduces extra game against the shite, and gives an extra 2 home games for bottom teams helps to compensate for only 2 games at home against an old firm team.
