Great race, sensational drive from Lewis!
Max is a dirty bastard and how he got away with that is beyond me. Great driver, but he’s immature and petulant, could easily cost him in the last few races when the pressure is on.

    That’s ridiculous from Hamilton.
Whether you love him or hate him, there’s not another driver on the grid who wins by 10 seconds from starting the sprint in dead last.

I have to say, after the shit that Lewis was in from the beginning of this race with the qualifying issues, this maybe the greatest formula 1 race I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable. Well done Lewis the Brit!

    What a weekend from Hamilton.
Can't believe there was no investigation, but that type of driving from Max will only cost him the Championship. Too angry - but he's always been like that.

Yeah when I posted this he was probably only going to start 6th at  worse and would have been 1 point closer to Max and not 2 behind
He really needs Bottas to help him out in the early stages. If Bottas can keep Max before for 25-30 laps the door will be open for Lewis. Like you say though it's a tough ask!

Lewis clearly has great pace this weekend, but he’s got to come from 10th and win it. Unless Max does something stupid he’ll get past Bottas, he wins and he can afford to come second in the remaining 3 races and still be champion.
I’m a Lewis fan, want him to win but I think now it’s pretty much done. Hope I’m wrong.
Still looking forward to the race today though, should be a great watch.

Totally fail to understand why the mhanks are creaming themselves over Gerrard leaving.
We have been far from at our best for the majority of this season and yet we are still four points ahead coming into the key festive period schedule of games.
Frequently teams that are struggling  a  bit get a boost from the appointment  of a new manager, players having to earn their first team Jersey all over again.
Surely not the only one that thinks the appointment of a manager of the experience and quality of van bronckhorst  could have the mhanky mob cry wanking themselves to sleep come the ne'er day game.

    It’s a huge risk he’s took and one I don’t really understand.
He stays here, manages in European competition of some form every season, wins a few trophy’s and league titles and with his status in Liverpool he’s guaranteed the job when Klopp goes.
Fail in the prem at a club like Villa and get sacked/ relegated and the Liverpool job is gone, simple as that.
Makes me wonder if there was something else he wasn’t happy about with us? Possibly the time away from his family or could it be he wanted more backing in the summer? I don’t believe he’s left due to money for the simple fact he doesn’t need it and wasn’t exactly on minimum wage with us, and it’s such a risky career move when you consider what we all know is his ultimate aim I can’t help what wonder what’s pushed him into this decision.

The club must have known on Tuesday or Wednesday morning at latest so should be well down road of list of preferred candidates.
To not have a manager in by next Sunday would be a dereliction of duty.

It could, and I stress could, if the board and Wilson are doing their jobs and planning for this scenario be the best thing for us. People talk about the timing of Gerrard deciding to leave but on the other hand at an early stage of a season where we haven’t been anywhere near the levels we know we can be, be the best possible timing. All depends on the competency of the people at the top making decisions however.

We are in a great position for a new manager coming in a settled team four points clear and with a very decent squad.
We have all complained about various parts of Gerrards management, subs were weird, timing of subs equally weird, the lethargy in the way we have started the season.
depending on who we get  we could really see our team pushing on we have better players than any team in the league, is it now time to let the players off the leash and bin this ten holding midfielders we play and show everyone why we are champions.

Me being a very positive member on here can see this being the beginning of something beautiful

Can’t be arsed reading all the pages I’ve missed but just came to say my feelings.
First of all good luck to him, 55 was one of the best days of my life and after achieving that I will always be greatful to Gerrard and his management team. He also brought back standards and a winning mentality that this great club has been built on but for the dark years had forgotten, I thank him for that.
However outside of some good European performances and 55 he hardly set the world alight. He failed to win any other trophy despite some golden chances. He had a total inability to change a game with tactical decisions or substitutions. His 433 was stale this season with no plan b. He had us playing 3 defensive midfielders and no idea what to do when things don’t go our way other than hitting aimless crosses into a box packed with defenders and 1 or 2 at the most blue shirts while everyone else held back outside. This season we’re top simply because the taigs are hopeless and even then since we won the OF they’ve picked up more points than us. Lose in the semi and against Sparta and Gerrard would have been under serious pressure anyway, if they had got within a point of us I’ve no doubt there would have been plenty calling for his head.
A new manager could be a badly needed spark at a time of the season we desperately need it. We have the players, but all season something just hasn’t clicked. Time for the board to show they’re up to the job, move quickly to get the right man and get us firing again as we know we can.
Thanks for the memories Stevie and good luck at Villa however now his time is behind us, and we have every reason to look at the future with positivity.
