Sometimes I get the impression that if ex-players aren’t shouting down any and all criticism of Rangers, whistling the Sash or spouting off the latest conspiracy theory then they’re no use to the online support. I think it’s probably all rooted in jealousy anyway, these guys lived the dream we all live vicariously through a message board and woe betide anyone who is perceived to have fallen short of being a pure Rangers man. Some of the stuff against ex-players is completely vicious - and completely disproportionate to any supposed crime. We have enough enemies without cannibalising our own.

Smoking makes you look edgy and hard. If you can master the underhand draw technique while blowing smoke rings you can look fuckin nails, man. I think we can all agree that looking well hard is something that will benefit our home support, who have gotten soft lately.

When we win 55. Hopefully this season but don’t think the midfield is strong enough unfortunately. If we beat them on the 29th and bring someone in during the January window - Davis maybe - then it’s on!

Playing for Hearts or Killie basically is retiring for ex-Rangers players.

Yep, this game was just a taster of what was to come. He was unstoppable in 96/97.

Laudrup was outstanding. One of my main memories of this game though was Paul Ritchie’s monstrous foul on Gazza.

The next season we only had about 3,000 at a half built Piggery. Won two of them and drew the other. You’re right though, it is disconcerting when you’re there, especially at that death trap.

We didn’t actually play very well in this game, thankfully neither did the taigs and 1-0 was enough.

One of only 4 Rangers players I’ve heard being booed by their own fans. Shameful. Big Amo was a rock for us at times, a terrific siege defender. He made some mistakes but all players do, although a few of his were in high profile games.

I’d have them all in for double training tomorrow morning.
